ASTER REED DID NOT expect her life to derail the way it did. Turns out being the daughter of a Greek Goddess sucks, and she's damned for a short, monster-filled life. Though she can distract herself with pretty flowers as her father often did, Aster has always looked over her shoulder, worried her past would catch up with her. And meeting Percy Jackson certainly was not on her already full to-do list.
After being chosen for a quest with the new kid to find Zeus's missing lightning bolt, it seems like nothing but trouble, but it's all her dreams are pointing her to do. Even her flowers seem to grow in his direction. With all the signs pointing to yes, Aster signs on. Little does she know the bumpy ride she has ahead of her with the boy with messy black hair.
Aster will have to journey through her teen years and figure out who she is and what she's meant to do. After having discovering her extraordinary powers, Aster has to learn how to control them and use them for good. When the new kid comes to camp, she can't help but think that he could help her find answers.
If only he would quit it with the stupid nicknames.
