Aleksander's POV

As I entered inside the room, there was nothing but a mess. Glass shattered everywhere, with tiny fragments that crunched beneath my shoes. I gazed down to see an unconscious Nikolas laying on the ground groaning. He fluttered his eyes open and got up immediately, his blue eyes looking around like a lion trying to catch its prey.

He gazed up at me and furrowed his brows, "Where's (y/n), Aleksander!" he barked, getting up with a hand pressing against his forehead. "You tried to choke your wife to death, Nikolas. It's better for you two to be separated." I explained briefly, beckoning him to sit down on the bed but he only ignored my gesture.

Nikolas began to walk out of the room while I followed suit and pulled him back with a sigh. "Let go you damn bastard! I'm going to teach her a lesson!" Nikolas fumed with clenched fists, struggling to let go of my grip behind his shirt.

Luck was on my side, for Nikolas was sick enough to not regain much of his strength. He would've punched me to my consciousness if he wasn't feeling ill. "Your wife is not a pet, Nikolas," I replied back calmly, trying my best not to snap at my brother's childish behavior.

I pulled him to the bed and glanced down, sliding my arm to my pocket watch with a flip as I looked. "The princess will be leaving today as well, Nikolas. The queen couldn't stand the mere sight of her no longer." I added, I heard Nikolas chuckle to himself, making me fixate my eyes towards him.

"I suppose luck is on my side, Aleksander," Nikolas said calmly, stretching his arms up and letting himself fall on the bed. "Too bad I won't be able to see her horrid death." he frowned.

Panic struck me in a halt as I took a step forward with clenched fists in front of an unhinged mind. "Are you trying to bring war to our kingdom, Nikolas? This is preposterous!" I darted my eyes everywhere to his means, trying to decipher on what he had planned in mind. He shrugged his shoulders and looked out at the window, "That woman asked for it and I'm just giving it to her."

Nikolas answered, looking back at me with a sarcastic expression plastered on his face. No words came out of my mouth from how puzzled my mind was from his unfaltering words as I could do nothing but glare at the loathing sight of him and exit out of the room in an immediate run.

When I finally arrived in front of the front door, Eirene's luggage's were being taken inside the boot of the carriage, Eirene peeked her head out of the window of the carriage door, "Are you here to give me one last insult, your highness?" she scoffed, leaning on the door with a palm resting to her cheek.

"My apologies for the inconvenience, your highness but please step out. This carriage is unsafe." I stepped forward and unlocked the carriage door, ignoring her fixated gaze. "Oh my, is the prince really concerned for my safety?" she giggled to herself, taking my hand and striding down the steps.

"What are you doing, Aleksander?" asked a voice from behind. I let go of Eirene's hand and turned around to meet my mother's cold gaze, I hurried to her side while she crossed both of her arms. "Nikolas is scheming a plan and it might cause nothing but conflict to our kingdom, mother,"

I said with eager, trying to find a hint of reaction from her eyes. "Well?" I raised my brows in question, trying to snap my mother's thoughts out of her mind. "Send her back inside, the prince had just mistaken." my mother ordered, beckoning Eirene back inside the carriage.

My mouth went wide agape as if my words fell into deaf ears. "Are you out of your mind, mother? Did you not hear what I just said?" I asked in disbelief, the tone of my voice coming out harsher than I anticipated.

"It will be nothing more but a mishap, Aleksander. She'll repay for what she had done to my little boy." mother said with no sign of reflection from her words, "I'm telling father, I have enough of this." I announced, taking my leave as I walked pass her in a haste.

"Guards! Take the prince up to his room, I believe he's quite ill after his...walk with lady (y/n)." she demanded, glaring right at me like sharp daggers piercing through my chest as the sentinels forced me up the stairs with Eirene looking out with a smug smirk on her face, unable to apprehend on what's to come.

"You people are mad!" I yelled with a scowl, but she only ignored my insults with her back turned as Maven appeared, taking his sit at the front of the carriage.
