Loud cries.

Dom sat up and looked over at Skylar who was sitting up in the bed as well, her arms folded across her chest and she looked over at him with a shake of her head.

"Who ever came up with this idea of let them cry it out clearly never actually had a kid crying for hours in their home" He said

"Neither have you.. she's been crying for two minutes" Skylar stated

"Two minutes.. two hours.." He shrugged "I'm going to get her" he said and she grabbed his arm to keep him in the bed

"No you're not" she shook her head

"Sky! She's clearly not okay"

"She's fine" Skylar nodded "She's two years old Dom.. we've went in to get her every single peep she's made since she was born.. she needs to learn to soothe herself back to sleep"

"You need to stop reading those stupid parenting books too" he nodded and sat back against the headboard with a huff and he folded his arms across his chest

"I promise you she will be fine" she ran her hand over his arm "She knows that you will always go in and get her if she cries"

"What's wrong with that?" He asked "She knows I will always be there"

"She needs to learn that even though we don't go get her right away, she's okay" she said and she saw him glare at her

Skylar woke up twenty minutes later to silence, she smiled slightly knowing she was right.. their daughter had soothed herself back to sleep.

"See.." She said quietly "I told you she would be okay" she said as she reached out for Dom only to find his side of the bed was empty and she sat up, looking around the empty room and then she heard his voice coming from the monitor on the nightstand "He did not.." She said as she got out of the bed

She made her way down the hallway towards their daughter's room quietly, she heard him speaking as she stood outside the door.

"A princess should never cry" he said and Skylar rolled her eyes "I don't care what the Queen says.. a king will never let his princess cry"

"Are you kidding me?" Skylar walked into the room now to see Dom sitting in the rocking chair with their daughter snuggled into his side

"She called for me!" He defended himself "If she'd cried out for you, you would have come too!" He said

"Gracie.." Skylar shook her head as she sat down on the floor "You've got your daddy wrapped around your tiny finger.." She said and the tiny toddler gave her a small smile "You know you do.." She pointed at her daughter "See! She knows what she's doing"

"I don't care" Dom shook his head "She's happy"

"You failed" Skylar said

"She's not crying anymore so I didn't fail" he argued

"You failed" Skylar nodded
