- 2ND PERSON POV -

Slowly you sat up, rubbing your eyes and sighing as you woke up from a slumber. After a bit of talking to Techno, you're going to be staying with Ranboo and Tubbo, and he'll still be there to translate for you.

Despite the fact that you knew that the hybrid wasn't your real father, you couldn't help but feel safer around him. Everyone who you were with in the Nether was either a Piglin or a Magma Cube. So despite not knowing him, being surrounded by familiarity was comforting.

You looked around the room, taking note of the sleeping Pigman next to you. Michael, his name was. While the two teens were making you a bed, he insisted on sleeping on the floor as well so you 'weren't lonely'. You then looked at the window. The sun was just barely up.

With a sigh you stood up, ready to explore the room when you heard voices and footsteps from below.
It was muffled, but you recognized the incoherent voices speaking in the language you were yet to understand. Ranboo, Tubbo, and Techno. Your.. friends? You weren't quite sure who they were to you at the moment.

You then moved to the corner of the room with the window. With a slight struggle you managed to climb up onto the ledge and sit down on it, looking outside with curiosity. Barely given a chance to look at the surrounding area, you took note of the farms and giant iced over ocean.

However you were only given a small moment before the trapdoor opened, and in came the English-speaking boys who had taken you in. You looked over and smiled, saying a small hello despite knowing they won't understand.

Last night you had spoken to Tubbo - with the help of the oldest of the group, of course - and he'd explained that if he knew your mother was someone so important in the lives of many, he never would have hurt her. Though you couldn't completely forgive him - you decided to give him a chance. After all, he seemed upset at himself. Crying practically the whole time until you told him you'd give him a chance. At least he felt guilty.

"Hi there!" The shortest spoke, his eyes sparkling as he waved at you. You didn't really understand his words, but you assumed it was a hello.

They began to talk amongst themselves for a bit, leaving you to look out the window again for another moment. You noticed the other houses, both a giant one and a couple smaller ones. You wondered who lived there before you heard a voice you could understand.

Techno spoke in the your native tongue. "Hey, (Y/N). What do you think about learnin' English?"
Despite understanding what he said, you didn't know what 'English' wash, nor did you know why you'd need to learn it.

"What's an English?"
"The language that Tubbo and Ranboo speak. Wanna learn how to speak it?"
You wasted no time in nodding. "Yeah! I wanna talk to everyone!"

Techno sent a nod to the others, as if telling them that you were up to learning the language. He then sat down on the floor near the window you were currently on. "I could teach you the basic things you'll need to know so that you can learn over time. Wanna do that now?"

You nodded once more, internally prepping yourself for a lesson.
He began to teach you basic things. How to pronounce your name and the other's names properly, then how to ask for food and water, and finally how to ask 'What's this?' So you could learn different objects over time.

The most difficult part was actually speaking the words. Unlike the language you spoke, where you speak as you inhale, English is spoken as you exhale. Not only did this lead to your lungs struggling to get used to the change, but your voice also sounded entirely different than what you'd known.

Technoblade smiled at you, patting your head softly before speaking. "And don't worry, I'll still be around for a bit to help you talk when things are hard or you need a break."
You smiled back, lunging into a hug, giggling. "Thank you Mr. Technoblade sir!"

"Awww!" You heard a cooe from the other side of the room, looking up to see Ranboo and Tubbo looking at the two of you in awe.
Techno rolled his eyes and laughed at the two of them. "Oh shut up you children-"

Ranboo rolled his eyes right back. "Oh please, you totally have a soft spot for (Y/N), you can't deny it!" He spoke, receiving another eyeroll from the oldest. The Enderman walked over to you, gently lifting you up in his arms. "Welcome to the family, (Y/N)..!"

The oldest Piglin wasted no time in translating the sentence. "He said 'welcome to the family, (Y/N).'"
In an attempt to improve your English, you made an attempt to repeat the words spoken to you. "W-Welco-ome t-" You cleared your throat as your voice went hoarse and hurt. "W-Welcome t-to s-s... sa f-family.." You Also struggled with the 'th' sound, making it sound more like an 's'. But this only made your voice sound more cute in the eyes of the older hybrids.

Tubbo cooed once more. "Awwe!! They just said welcome to the family in English! Ranboo did you hear that?!" Ranboo let out a chuckle, amused by how excited the brunette was. He made his way over to you and the tallest who was still holding you. "Good job, (Y/N)! You did a great job!" He spoke excitedly, obviously happy to see your progress.

"He said 'Good job.'" Techno spoke, now leaning against a wall on the floor and translating for you.

"G-Go-od... Good jo-b..?" You attempted to repeat.

The shortest squealed, nodding. "Yeah! Good job!"

So far, English had been difficult to learn, and you'd only just started! But hey, maybe it's worth it. Maybe you're safe here with this family.
