by the cab"Slow down, Lele!" Jeno giggled as he watched his lover pull him away from the ballroom, through the halls of the palace, into the garden that was designed as a maze, away from the toxic people who, Chenle believed, are jealous of their relationship.
The clock striked fifteen minutes to twelve midnight the moment they arrived in the middle of the maze garden. Heck, even Chenle was amazed that they have a maze garden. He always thought it was unnecessary, but for some reason it made him think about privacy -- for both him and the prince.
"Baby," Jeno called out, breaths uneven at how they ran from the ballroom to the center of the maze garden. The bright moonlight was enough to shine Chenle's smiling face, with the little dent on the top of his cheeks; the smile Jeno cherished the most.
Chenle ran up to him and crashed him in a tight hug, snuggling his face on the prince's neck and inhaled his scent. "Hyung..."
Jeno smiled at the younger's action, wrapping his arms around his waist and letting their heart beat in sync, just enjoying the night with silence and love. Jeno swayed their figures, humming a soft tune to complete the aura as Chenle hugged him tighter.
"Jeno hyung..."
The prince hummed in response, pressing his cheek against Chenle's soft, brunette hair. The chinese suddenly felt an overwhelming energy enter his veins, as if controlling him to get something from the waistband of his slacks.
The feeling was brief, almost taking control over Chenle, but he managed to shake the feeling off and just enjoy their moment.
"If 'I love you' was a promise..." Chenle trailed, heart fluttering as he felt Jeno's hand caress his hair softly. "Would you keep it, if you're honest?"
Jeno let silence take over them for a moment as he never stopped swaying their bodies, "My love, that is not a question." Jeno pulled away from their hug, his hands making its way to caress Chenle's cheeks, making sure to notice every single feature placed in Chenle's beautiful face. "I promise to love you, from the moon and back."
Chenle couldn't control anything once again, his hands sneakily made its way to grab something from his back. It felt long and sharp, yet he still failed to recognize what it was.
"I am certain you'll reminisce this day, Lele." Jeno smiled, showing his lover the most genuine and widest smile he could pull; something Chenle would remember before things go down. God, he loves Chenle so much. "I love you so much that I'm willing to die for you."
Jeno knew everything.
The moment Chenle collapsed in his arms as the woman vanished away, up until the hour when his lover would pierce it regretfully.
He pulled Chenle in his arms once again, smile falling little by little as he pulled the younger's figure closer to him. His eyes shifted to the clock, one minute left before striking twelve midnight.
He heard the woman's words.
And he concludes it's his fate.
Chenle was struggling, there was this concentrated energy that took over his veins and control him -- heck, he was even surprised at the item he was holding tightly, not knowing where it came from.
What is happening?
He could feel his hands shaking, as well as his eyes watering for no reason. His modern self was confused, but his past self was trying his best not to make things happen. His hands were moving on its own, slowly positioning the long, sharp dagger just above Jeno's back.
What is this feeling?
Why couldn't he control his actions?
With a familiar bell resonating through the whole kingdom signalling that it was midnight, Jeno closed his eyes, a tear falling down his cheek. "Pierce it, my love."
What?
Chenle tried his best; it wasn't enough.
His hands did their own thing and pushed the dagger through Jeno's back, piercing his flesh through his heart. Chenle's eyes widened, cheeks suddenly flooding with tears the moment the spell worked so effortlessly. He could feel the energy subside, he swore in his life he never wanted this to happen.
"Chenle... Lee Chenle..." Jeno uttered quietly, legs slowly losing its purpose as they fell on the ground, his lover catching him in his arms. Changing Chenle's last name was something Jeno wanted to do,
Yet he never got to do it.
"J-Jeno!" Chenle yelled, tears streaming down his face as he cupped the prince's cheeks, "Y-You're fine, everything's fine.. Hyung, y-you're okay!"
"Chenle..."
"Baby, no! Please, stay with me. Hyung, stay with me. I love you, hyung, please don't leave me alone!" Chenle cried. He didn't know it was this devastating, hell he didn't even know Jeno personally yet his modern self finds himself crying as well.
"L-Live for me, my love." Jeno mutters in a little to no sound, eyelids growing heavy.
Everything just happened in a blur and Chenle couldn't even get ahold of it.
