Diana

"She wants to see you again?" Misty asks for what feels like the millionth time. I had told her all about how my Aunt Ivy was talking about my mother wanting to see me one last time before my eighteenth birthday.

I nod my head, "Yes, Misty. My mother wants to see me one last time." I roll my eyes as we walk from her car to the school building. Ready for another day of boring school.

"And are you going to see her one last time?"

"I have to. I'm required by law until I turn eighteen," I tell her. We walk to our lockers, stopping by just to throw our not needed things in them before making our way down the hall and to our separate classes.

"That sucks," Misty frowns.

Misty doesn't know the full extent of my relationship with my mother, just like she doesn't know that much about the scar on my body. But she never asks questions. I think she's waiting for the day I'm ready to share that part of my life with her.

The funny thing is, I don't know if I'll ever be ready.

"Maybe everything-"

"Hey, princess sugar tits," the voice from the park last night interrupts, cutting Misty off. I scowl as we watch Harry and his friend Niall Horan stroll past us. Harry sending me a devious smirk before saluting the two of us with his fingers.

"Gag me with a spoon," I groan, shaking my head and fixing my backpack on my shoulder.

"What was that all about?" Misty nudges my ribs with her elbow.

"What was what all about?"

"That," she nods her head up towards where Harry disappeared, "With Styles. Why did he call you princess..." she trails off and mumbles the last two words, "Sugar tits?"

"It's not important," I shut her down completely, not wanting to explain to her the short lived conversation with Harry Styles I had last night in the park. And it clearly isn't important, because I don't care what Harry Styles says.

"Are you sure-"

"I'm sure," I cut Misty off, and send her a sweet smile. "I'll see you at lunch, yeah?"

"Yeah," she says skeptically before I turn on my heel and walk down the hall to my first period class, and I almost make it without being stopped again.

Key word is almost.

"Diana," my arm was grabbed and pulled off to the side and I come face to face with one person I didn't want to talk to you.

"What do you want, Dempsey?" I cross my arms and pop my hip out, rolling my eyes. I've been here before and I know what he is going to say. He is going to spew some lame excuse to make up for him cheating and then proceed to beg for me to take him back.

"You," he replies. "I want you."

I groan and uncross my arms, "Well, you ruined any chances of that every happening when you decided to cheat on me." The warning bell sounds and I fix my backpack again, brushing past Dempsey's shoulder, "Goodbye Dempsey."

"Fine, your loss!" he yells after me, causing everyone in the hall to stare at me, "Try and find someone else who is going to love your scarred up body or fucked up family like I did! Because news flash Diana, no one ever will!"

I just roll my eyes because I'm used to this as well. When Dempsey realizes that his sweet tactics aren't working on me anymore like they used to, he resorts to being cruel.

It used to hurt, but now I've grown used to it.

Walking to lunch this time, Squid doesn't try to bother me. He keeps his head down, refusing to make eye contact with me, which is not like Squid at all. And he always has something to say.
