Soobin has tried to figure out who that secret admirer would possibly be. He has wondered that from the very first one he received. But he couldn't pinpoint it right at all. He couldn't even take the handwriting as a clue because the person writing this was definitely trying out the different handwriting styles on the letter that each and every day the style and writing were different. The paper and ink remained the same. The sincerity and the love behind the words remained the same.

Every letter has made him feel way different. One would make him so happy, one would make him just smile, some laugh out a bit. Yeah, even ones that would make him sad. One of those letters has made him cry too.

He could still remember the words that were etched on that soft parched paper. He remembers the words so vividly because he has read them over and over again before he went to bed that night.

I have been sending you these for a while now and I can spot you relatively cheerful nowadays.

I remember one of my letters making you smile, and I wish that smile stays on you forever. It makes me happy that you are happy, and that is what matters. Your smile has always been my favorite. It always will be.

I wish I could look into your eyes and say the same, but I'm really a coward to do so and I accept it.

Binnie, I know I have been hiding behind this plain writ, but believe me when I say you wouldn't be happy to know who I am. It scares me that you would lose your smile when you know who I really am. I'm sorry.

Soobin clears his throat and just focuses on the present letter as he picks it up trying to forget the sad one. The last he wants right now is to break down before his teammates and be a topic of a joke. Being the captain requires him to maintain an image, and he tries hard to always maintain that.

The letter just makes him smile, he was just going to open it but before that, he hears a voice. Just like that, his smile turns into a rather larger one, his eyes shining just by the sight of the person.

"Soobin-ah, wanna grab dinner?" it was Yeonjun. His childhood friend on whom he had a crush that is definitely harder to describe in words. Until the freshman year, he just had Beomgyu by his side, but he never expected to see Yeonjun on the first day of the sophomore year after middle school. Since then, they have been inseparable. It didn't take long before all the three got close.

Yeonjun was already done with his evening tutoring session and so now they both could go together, and Beomgyu usually left earlier because he had to work part-time.

But he still hadn't got ready.

Soobin smiles at him anyway, too weak for him to do anything but. "Sure, Yeonjun hyung."

"I'll wait outside, don't take too long, or I'll leave without you." Yeonjun glared at him, rather playfully.

Soobin just smiled at him and nodded.

Soobin made sure Yeonjun was out of sight, then hoards away the envelope carefully in his bag, and then quickly showers and get ready to join his best friend who was waiting for him outside. He can't wait to read today's letter, but also he can't make Yeonjun wait. So he chooses to read the letter later when he reaches his dorm.
