Chapter 18

Delaney's POV

I walked along side the trio. We were all very quiet, most of the school way. All that could be heard was the birds chirping and the sharpening of a blade. "I can't believe they're gonna kill Buckbeak. It's just to horrible!" Says Hermione as we walk across the bridge. "And it just got worse." Ron says, as we Draco, Goyle and Crabbe. "Father said I can keep the Hippogriff's head. I'll donate it to the Gryffindors' room." We hear Draco says and Hermione gets her wand out and walks towards Draco. "Look who's here." Crabbe said as he spotted us. "Come to see the show?" Draco said, cockily.  "You! You foul mouth, loathsome, evil little cockroach!" Hermione insults Draco, pointing her wand at him and he looks at me for help and I sigh. "Hermione, no! He not worth it." I say and she lowers her wand and turns away and Draco laughs, Hermione turn back and punches Draco in the face and they run off. "That felt good." Hermione says smiling. "Not good, bloody brilliant!" Ron cheers. We all laugh a little 

"Let's go!" I say and we continue walking to Hagrid's hut. "Look at him! He loves the smell of the trees when the wind blows through them." Hagrid says as were sitting in the hut. I don't really listen to what Harry and Hagrid are saying cause in busy changing my hair colour. "We'll stay with you Hagrid." Hermione says. "You'll do no such thing! Think I want you seeing something like that? No! Just drink your tea and be off. But before you do, Ron," Said Hagrid, turning around and opening something and pulling out Ron's rat. "Scabbers!" Ron says taking him. "Keep a close eyes on your pets Ron!" Hagrid says. "I think you owe someone an apology." Hermione says. "Right. Next time I see Crookshanks, I'll let him know." Says Ron.That idiot. "She meant her Ron!" I say shaking my head and the vase next to me broke.

"What was that?!" Hagrid asks. "Ow!" Harry said and he looks out the window and sees Fudge, Dumbledore and the executor. Hagrid also sees them. "It's late. It's nearly dark. You shouldn't be here! Someone sees you outside the castle this time of night, you'll be in trouble! Quick! Quick!" Hagrid rushes us out of the hut and we hide behind some giant pumpkins. We watch and listen to what is happening and Hermione turns around and faces the forest. "What?" I ask also looking. "I thought I saw.... Never mind..." She says. "Let's go!" Ron says and we run back up towards the castle and stand near some rocks watching.

We see the executor raise his axe and slam it back down again. I flinch and hug Harry and Hermione sorta hugs Ron. Ron gasps and we all pull away. "He bit me. Scabbers!" Ron says and we all chase the rat to the Whomping Willow. "Girls, you do realize what tree this is right?" asks Harry and I nod. "That's not good! Ron run!" I say but he doesn't move. He just points behind us. "Guys run! It's the Grim!" he says and we turn to see a dog. Dad. Sirius runs forward and grabs Ron's leg with his teeth and starts dragging him towards the Whomping Willow. All 3 or us run forwards trying to catch Ron. I manage to grab his hand but he just pulls me in with him. Dad keeps running and we end up in a room, in the Shrieking  Shack.

I help Ron up on the bed and I sit next to him looking at all the cuts my me. My hair turns white with pain. "Thanks Ronald!" I say and he looks at me. "Sorry!" He says, also in pain. I have no idea what is going on outside. Great! All I can hear is screaming. A couple of minuets later Harry and Hermione come though the bedroom door. "Ron, Delaney! Are you okay?" Hermione asks and I nod a little. "The dog. Where is it?" Harry says and Ron points to Sirius. "Its a trap! He's the dog! He's an Animagus" Ron say and Harry turns to look at Sirius along with Hermione. "If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too" Mione says. "Only one will die tonight!" Dad say. "Then it will be you!"Harry says running forward and wrestles my dad to the floor and take out is wand.

Suddenly Remus burst though the doors. "Expelliarmus!" Uncle Remus say and Harry's wand flies out of his hand and Harry moves. "Well, Well, Sirius. Looking rather ragged, aren't we? Finally the flesh reflects the madness within." Remus says. "You'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you Remus?" Sirius says and Lupin lowers his wand and help dad up and pulls him into a hug. "I found him." said Sirius. "I know." Answers Remus. "Its him." Remus nods. "I understand."

"Let's kill him" Dad said. "No! I trusted you, and all this time you've been his friend. He's a werewolf. That's why he's been missing classes." Hermione says. "How long have you known?" Remus asks. "Since Professor Snape set the essay." answers Hermione. "Well, well, well, Hermione. You really are the second brightest witch of your age I've ever met." Uncle Remus says. "Enough talking Remus! Come on, let's kill him!" Dad said. "Wait!" Remus says. "I did my waiting! 12 years of it! In Azkaban! I didn't even get to watch my little girl grow up" Dad said, looking at me. I could feel tears in my eyes. "Very well. Kill him. But wait just another minute. Harry has the right to know why." Remus says.

"I know why. You betrayed my parents! You're the reason they're dead!" Harry said. "No, it wasn't him." I say walking towards dad, finally speaking up and turning to face Harry. "Somebody did betray your parents, D's mother, Someone who, until recently, I thought was dead!" Remus says. "Who was it then?!" demands Harry. "Peter Pettigrew! And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, Come out, Peter. Come out, come out and play!" Sirius says and Snape walks into the room. "Expelliarmus!" Snape says and Remus' wand flies to the floor and Snape points his wand at Remus and Sirius. "Vengeance is sweet. I hoped i'd be the one to catch you. I told Dumbledore you were helping a friend into the castle. Here's proof." Snape says. "Brilliant Snape. You've put your keen mind to the task and come to the wrong conclusion. Now if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have business to attend to." Dad said, walking up to Snape and he points his wand at my father. "Give me a reason. I beg you!" Snape says.

"Severus don't be a fool." Remus says, walking closer. "He can't help it. Its habit." Sirius says. "Be quiet, Sirius!" Remus says. "Be quiet yourself, Remus!" Dad says back. "Look at you two, quarrelling like an old married couple." Snape sneers. They kind of were. "Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set!" Sirius says and we see Snape dig his wand into the side of Sirius' neck. "I could do it you know. But why deny the dementors? There so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? Oh yes. A Dementor's Kiss. One can only imagine what that must be like. Its said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best!" Snape sneers. "Severus please." Remus says and I reach into my back pocket and get my wand. "After you." Snape nod towards us teenagers and I walk forward a little and turn my wand on Snape.

"Expelliarmus!" I say and a blue spark shots out of my wand, hitting Professor Snape and knocking him out and backwards onto the bed. "Delaney! What did you just do?" Ron says looking at me. "You attacked a teacher!" Hermione says and Harry turns to Sirius. "Tell me about Peter!" Harry said. "He went to school with us. We thought he was ours friend." Remus says. "No. Pettigrew's dead. You killed him." He said facing Sirius. "No he didn't." I say. "I thought so too, Until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the map." Remus say looking at Harry. "The map was lying, then." Harry says and I shake my head and my white hear moves from side to side. "The map never lies! Pettigrew's alive! And he's right there." Dad said as he points to Ron.

"Me?! He's mental!" Ron says and I sigh. "Not you, you idiot! Your rat!" I say. "Scabbers has been in my family for--" Ron starts. "12 years?" Dad cuts him off, "Curiously long life for a common garden rat! He's missing a toe isn't he?" Sirius asks. "So what?" Ron says.  "All that was left of Pettigrew was his-" Harry starts but Sirius interupts, "Finger! Dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat!" Dad said, frantically. "Show me." Harry said and Sirius tries to take Scabbers. "Just give it to him, Ron!" I say.

Dad finally gets Scabbers and puts him on the piano and the rat tries running away, but Remus finally hit him with a spell and the rat turns into Peter Pettigrew! "Remus? Sirius. My old friends!" Peter says and he tries to ran away but they stop him and I walk over to Harry. "Harry! Look at you! You look so much like your father! And Delaney! You look so much like your mother! James and Lily. We were the best of friends" Peter says looking at us. "How dare you speak to Delaney and Harry!" Sirius says and Peter runs over to the piano. "How dare you talk about James and Lily in front of them!" Dad says. "You sold James and Lily out to Voldemort didn't you?!" Remus demands. "I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord. You have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself Sirius! What would you have done?" Peter says. "Died, rather then betray my friends!" Sirius answers and Peter starts running to the door but me and Harry block the door way.

"James wouldn't of wanted me killed!   Your dad would of spared me! He would of showed me mercy!" Peter said to Harry. "You should of realized if Voldemort didn't kill you. We would. Together." Remus says. "No!" Harry and I shouted at the same time. "This man-" Remus started. "We know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle." Harry said. "Bless you boy, Bless you!" Peter said, practically hugging Harry's feet. "Get off!" Harry said and he moved back. "We only said we'd take you to the castle. After that the dementors can have you." Harry and I said together.
