"You're staring again." Jackson told you, putting a chip in his mouth. "What?" You turn to him. "You should just be honest with her, it's sad watching this play out." You rolled your eyes. "Alex just left her, I can't tell her how I feel right now." Jackson groaned. "You have to be kidding me, there's never a right time Y/N. Alex left months ago. The right time doesn't exist, you think there was a right time for me and April? I told her I loved her at her wedding." "See? There is a wrong time." You smirk. "Okay it's been three freakin' years of you moping over her." "I know." Y/N mumbled. "If you don't tell Jo how you feel, I will." "Jackson!" You warned. "My mentor once said if you love someone you tell them, even if you're scared it's not the right thing, even if you're scared it'll cause problems, even if you're scared it'll burn your life to the ground, you say it, and you say it loud." Jackson recited to you. "Poetic." You raise your eyebrows. "He had his moments." Jackson said simply. "There, see? She just waved at you. Go over there." "Who says she even likes girls?" Y/N sighed. "Only one way to find out." Jackson shrugged. Y/N downed her drink and stood up. "Wish me luck." "You got this." He fist bumped you. "Go get your girl." You took a deep breath and strode over with more confidence than you actually felt to the one and only, Jo Wilson. "Hey." Jo smiled brightly when she saw you coming. "Hi." You smiled back. "Can I sit?" "Of course." Jo said. "Can I get you a drink?" She asked. "I like you." You blurted out. Jo looked at you with a smirk. "I know." "You know?" You ask incredulously. "Yeah. You're not very subtle with your staring Y/N." "How long have you known?" "I kind of always suspected but more so when Alex left me." "I mean..does it change anything?" You ask Jo nervously.  "Well, that kinda depends, will you let me buy you a drink?" Jo asked with a smile. "Like, a friendly drink or a date drink?" You ask, hoping for the latter. "A date drink, dummy." Jo chuckled. "Oh, oh. Yes, yeah I'd love one." "Good. What'll it be?" "Vodka soda please." You smile. You turned around to look at Jackson who held a thumbs up and a grin on his face. You weren't sure if it was a happy for you grin or a happy he was right grin though, but you'd find out tomorrow. "What are we drinking to?" You asked, turning your attention back to Jo. She thought for a moment before smiling at you. "To new beginnings?" You smile back. "To new beginnings." You clinked your glasses and downed your drinks.

"Are you sure Levi is gone?" You ask as Jo opened her door. "Yes I'm sure, he's over at Nico's tonight. Why are you so nervous?" Jo asked you, sitting on the bed, patting a spot near her for you to join her. "I just don't wanna say or do anything wrong." You admitted, sitting next to her. "I really like you and I don't wanna mess a chance with you up. I guess I jus-" You were cut off with Jo's lips on your own, pushing you down onto the bed. You immediately kissed back, feeling her hands trace the skin on your hips. "You worry too much." She whispered against your lips. "And just for the record, I really like you too." You grin at her words before she reattached your lips, you instantly reciprocating the kiss. "Jo. Jo wait." Jo pulled away and looked at you with concern on her face. "What's wrong?" "I don't want to just be a hook up. I don't want us to just have sex every now and then and be nothing more than that. I want to be someone you come to when you're upset, someone you get to fall asleep with, someone who sticks around and makes you happy for the rest of your life. I want the kind of life that Alex had before he left." Jo's eyes softened. "You're cute." "I mean it Jo, so if this is just an experiment or a crush for you, I don't want to get my hopes up." "Hey, look at me." Jo held your chin softly and made you look at her. "You're not the only one that's thought about what we could be together. I've imagined it all, dates, walks in the park, lazy days, cuddling with you, kissing-okay my point is, you're not just a crush to me." Jo told you seriously. "I don't start things I can't finish." You saw nothing but honesty in her eyes. "What can I do to prove to you I'm in this for the long haul?" She asked with a gentle tone. "Is it okay if we just take things slow?" You ask hesitantly. "Of course." Jo smiled. "Wait does slow mean I can't kiss you? Cause that part would suck." You giggled. "Kisses are allowed." "What about cuddles?" Jo asked you with puppy dog eyes. "They're good too." Jo smiled and laid next to you, cuddling up, laying her head on your chest. You brought your hand up to play with her hair and felt her sigh in content. "Is spending the night too fast?" She asked, hope in her voice the answer would be no.  "Nah, plus I'm way too comfy to move." "Good. Also if you keep playing with my hair I'm definitely gonna fall asleep." "Do you want me to stop?" You ask her teasingly. "If you even dare-" "I don't dare." You cut her off quickly. You watched Jo fumble around for the cover with her eyes closed. You couldn't help but smirk before using your spare hand to move it closer for her. You watched as Jo clutched the fabric with a sense of victory in the smile on her face and pull it over the two of you. "Goodnight Jo." "Night baby." She mumbled, falling asleep. You couldn't help but pout at her words; that was pretty adorable.
