you wake up to only travis holding you.
travis: do you want to tell me what happened
yn: i guess
yn: i had my graduation and it was good. i was hanging out with ava and chris. jacquie came over and started being mean to me so i ran away and hid.
travis gave you a hug and just held you tight till you stopped crying.
travis: i got you, you are going to be ok
you stayed like that for a few minutes
travis: you want to go into the beanary and eat. your mama should be here soon and will eat with us.
you nod your head and go to the beanary. you are all eating when carina walks in. she walks over and kisses you on the head.
carina: how was your graduation?
you shrug your sholders not looking at her.
carina: hey are you gonna look or talk to me at all
you shake your head
carina: why not
you dont do anything, you just sit still. tears rolling down your chercks but you dont care.
carina makes a move to wipe you cheeks but you move your head so she cant.
maya stands up and walks over to you both. she lifts you out of the chair andvgrabs carinas hand and brings you into her office. she closes the door then brings you over and sits in her chair with you still in her lap.
carina: bambina Cosa c'è che non va [ what's wrong]
you shake your head still not wanting to answer or look at her.
after a few minutes of silence you respond
yn: you weren't there, it is supposed to be a happy day. i am now a high schooler and you missed the whole thing.
you stop for a minute to catch your breath and to see if your Mama will say anything, but she doesn't.
yn: the day that i supposed to be the most fun was ruined. YOU WEREN'T THERE, JACQUIE MADE FUN OF ME. I RAN AWAY HIDE AND HAD A PANIC ATTACK. AND THE PERSON WHO SAID THEY WOULD ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN I NEEDED THEM WAS NOT. I NEEDED MY MOM AND SHE WASN'T THERE FOR ME. so i dont want to talk to you right now, because you weren't there when i needed you the most.
carina: non urlare contro di me [don't yell at me]
yn: fine
you say and roll your eyes, and look down at the ground. you all hear a knock on the door.
maya: come in
andy walks in with the twins crying in her arms.
andy: i can't get them to stop.
maya nods and moves you off her lap and goes to grabs the twins.
maya gets the twins to stop crying and puts them in her bunk to let them sleep.
carina: sai che sono un chirurgo, non ho molto controllo sul mio programma [you know i'm a surgeon, i don't have as much control over my schedule]
you nod your head. you know this has been happening your whole life but she has always been the one you relied on. you love maya and are so glad she is your mom. but carina is the one you need the most and she wasn't there. you are so on the fence about staying mad or understanding its not her choice when she gets paged in.
