Chapter 8 : Burning pile

I was assigned to mission with a sorcerer from the countryside. Kano-sensei is not really well known aside from the rumors of his brutality when exorcising curses. Another student coming with us is a new first year and supposedly part of the big three jujutsu clan, I don't know which. I enjoy being a Jujutsu Sorcerer, it saved me from that boredom but learning about its whole history would just make me bored. Growing up with a non sorcerer family I felt too normal and dull despite the abnormal strength I have, I was caught in a void of boredom until finally a sorcerer named Yuki Tsukumo became my mentor and I swore to never swallowed in that boredom state ever again.

I inserted my money inside the vending machine and it immediately returned it back. I smacked the machine and unintentionally broke the glass, "You Todo?"
I grabbed a can of green tea under the shards of glass. Without looking who was speaking I could easily sense his potent cursed energy. "Kano-sensei."
"Hmm no need for introduction good." He sighed and leaned towards the wall and began to light a cigarette. He wasn't wearing the usual Jujutsu Uniform instead casual attire under his haori.

"Where's thing 2?"
"Not sure." I replied assuming he meant the new student.
He took a whiff, "Have you met her?"
"No."

We talked for a while and from what I gathered he was blunt and straightforward, and enjoys living at the country and has a couple of vices and would probably die from it first than doing this job. Recalling one of the stories I heard from other sorcerers there was this incident around 9 years ago in Kabuchiko, Tokyo of a couple curses wandering around the red light district and the death rate was aggressively raising caused by unexplained deaths. Then a couple of sorcerers were deployed including one from the country. Three ended up dying another three was badly injured and only one finished the task by brutally exorcising a special grade curse and a couple of lower grades curses. It would've been a great story about eliminating that number of curses in a span of one night except the part where Kano-sensei was accused of killing the three sorcerers despite the deposition of the other surviving sorcerers proving his innocence.

Utahime-sensei waved her hand from afar to our direction, "Kano-sama, Todo-kun!" besides her was a girl with similar hair color to the one they call six eyes, Satoru Gojo from Tokyo Tech.
When they began to close the distance I noticed something off about her, "You're an odd one aren't you? No cursed energy." Kano-sensei pointed out laughing lightly in disbelief and amusement while messing her hair up.
He put out his cigarette by stepping on it, "Zenin." He added.

Utahime tried to ease the tension by laughing uncomfortably, "Ah another Sorcerer is coming with you today! He's from Hokkaido."
Kano-sensei's eyebrows furrowed and gave Utahime-sensei a deadly glare, "Don't tell me it's that rich bra—"
Utahime quickly walked away when the sorcerer from Hokkaido arrived dressed in expensive clothes and wore a rich perfume, He was annoying and I wanted to beat him into a pulp but I felt bad from the insulting truths that Kano-sensei was already dropping for him, "Did your rich daddy forced Principal Gakuganji for a ride along again?" He scoffed lighting another cigarette.
There's an obvious history between them the way Kano-sensei is comfortably insult him, "Wearing Prada to a mission? I can't promise to not spill blood on those." The annoying guy's face burned up and clenched his jaw.
