LATER THAT day, I decided to go outside and get some fresh air. It was about 3:30 in the afternoon so it was still quite light out. I laid on the grass outside the estate just staring at the sky.
I felt someone lie next to me so i turned my head and saw Miles staring at the sky like I was
"Can I help you?" I asked
"No. Just wanted to be here"
"In this exact spot?" I questioned
"As a matter of fact, yes, but you happen to be next to where I wanted to be"
I'm response, I let out a breathy chuckle
"Y/n here's a question for you, what do you hate most in this world?" He asked
"Well I gotta say, I have a few hates. Top of the list would be kate, then you would know, spiders comes second. Umm getting my hands wet in a swimming pool. Aaandd i guess you could make it onto that list" I said counting on my fingers "How about you?" I asked
"Hmmm, Kate. Definitely Kate and I think I hate you as equally as I hate her" he said
"Ouch, that's a bad insult" I said
He then turned on his side to face me and I did the same. We didn't say anything, just stared at each other. His eyes kept flickering from my e/c orbs to my lips. Slowly he began to lean in.
Then our lips touched for a few seconds until he pulled away. "Why-?" I started
"Because I felt like it" he whispered to me and I nodded my head.
"I still hate you" we said at the same time after a long silence.
"Hey, y/n, you know Jessel and quint, I promise we'll get them away from us" he said
"Ok"
"And, just so that we can't stay connected in any way through the spirits, promise me that if one of us dies through the process, the other persons will die too, even if we're not very fond of eachother" he said holding out his hand to shake
I thought about it then came to the realisation, it is probably a good thing to do. I mean it was the only way out of the situation. So I shook his hand.
"Cross my heart and hope to die" I said
"Cross my heart and hope to die" he repeated.
Little did I know, he had his fingers crossed behind his back the whole time.

Kate once again had ordered me to do the dishes. This time I complied without arguing because there's no point anymore.
I was in my own world just thinking about anything and everything not really paying attention to the task at hand
I feel a push on my shoulders and a shout which in reply I gasp and turn around clutching onto the butter knife I was holding. These days I've been even more cautious
I looked down and saw Flora giggling and Miles in the door way
"That's not the first time you'll be making that noise" he said just above a whisper whilst smirking. I just rolled my eyes at his comment
"Y/n! Come on! We're going to prank Kate again!" She said
"Again? Ok" I said
Flora grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs. However mrs grose called her to do some schoolwork so it was just me and Miles
"You still on for it?" I asked
"Definitely. I have an idea"
He took me to Kate's room and dragged me and himself onto the bed. Gosh I'm getting dragged everywhere today!
"Shake the bed" he said smirking I caught on quickly and smirked as well going along with what he said
"Fuck y/n!" He shouted trying to get Kate's attention
"Oh my god Miles!" I shouted trying not to laugh and so was he
We heard footsteps come running and shouting "I swear if your doing it in my room"
We stopped what we were doing and lied on the bed
She pushed the door open with a panicked look
"What's the matter kate?" I asked
"Yeah, you look traumatised" Miles questioned
"But I heard-" Kate started
"Heard what?" I said quickly
"Never mind" she said eyeing us suspiciously and left
"High five brutha!" I said to Miles holding up my hand
"The way I think of you is illegal then if you think of me as your brother" he replied smirking which lead to me rolling my eyes and walking off, not even getting my fucking high five!
