My Berry (Sunwoo The Boyz)

I'm Sitting between Sunwoo and Jacob, our friends stay over to watch a movie, Irene picks it and it's very boring but the rest of us are too scared to tell her. I have forgiven Changmin from his scary prank because he sort of scared me out of my shell, and I feel like I've been able to act more casually and like myself since then. And because of this, Chanhee's judging has gone to a slowing down point which is a huge relief for me.

But out of all of them I feel most connected to Jacob (other than Sunwoo of course). He's sweet and quiet and doesn't drain my energy to hang out with.

I keep my eyes on the tv screen where we are watching the painfully tiring movie. I feel my eyelids drift a bit and a surge of tiredness sweeps over me. The events from the past few days have been very tiring, on top of that having to socialize with many new friends.

Before I can stop it my listening of the movie dialogue fades and I drift off to sleep.

I can't tell if I'm still dreaming or not as I hear people speaking but I keep my eyes closed because I'm still tired.

"oh so now you're saying it's my fault?"

"Sunwoo... calm down"

"I'll calm down once you tell me!"

"I'm not saying it's your fault- not at all! I'm just saying we've been like this since like an hour ago,"

"So what?? Just because I didn't notice right away doesn't make it any more acceptable"
"I understand that. But I didn't do anything except for fall asleep"

"Pssh, but Jacob, you were aware of what was going on and you didn't stop to think-"
"Sunwoo why are you being like this?"

"because he's craaazy in looooOooOVe"
"Shut it eric"

"I mean, I know this is your first girlfriend, but this is a bit extreme"

"It's just- i don't know. We've been through a lot together, and you two barely just met and-"
"what do you mean, 'barely just met' we've known each other since the beginning of high school!"

"It's- I- aish. You're right. I'm sorry, I must just be tired"
"Yeah, you must be. But I on the other hand have been noticing since like a day ago that Mina has been acting weird,"

"Choose your words carefully Chanhee,"
"I mean- you both have been acting weird. What are you two hiding from us?"

"I- uh,"
"You can tell us, we've been friends for years"
"right. For years. Phew, okay, the truth is, what we've been hiding from you all is... we went to lotte world last weekend without you guys"

"WHAT"
"I KNEW IT"
"YOURE SO MEAN"

"This explains a lot"
"Yeah. We didn't want to tell you guys since it was sort of a couple thing. But anyways that's why we're both tired, so you should probably get going"

"Watch your back at school tomorrow."
"Okay"
"See you tomorrow!"
"Bye"

I hear the front door close gently and I stay half asleep for a ten more minutes before I slowly open my eyes, wondering if the talking I heard was a dream.

I sit up slowly, becoming aware of my surroundings, dim lights on the couch, credits rolling on the tv, and my friends left but Sunwoo is walking towards me from the kitchen.

"Oh you're up are you?" he raises his eyebrows slightly, and his tone confuses me a little bit.

I sit up completely and Sunwoo sits a bit apart from me on the couch which is concerning because he usually tries to be as close as possible.
What changed when I fell asleep?

"What happened?" I ask.
"What happened?" Sunwoo repeats, scoffing slightly. "What happened is you fell asleep on the shoulder of someone not your boyfriend."

"Who?" I gasp.
"Guess."
"Sunwoo..."
"I said guess. Who was sitting on the other side of you who you felt so inclined to fall asleep with while I was right there??"

"...jacob?" I say hesitantly
"Oh congrats you're right" Sunwoo says sarcastically.

"Are you mad? I'm sorry, that wasn't intentional. If I had known I was going to sleep I promise i would've-"
"You don't have to apologize," Sunwoo says.
"Are you jealous?"
he turns his face towards me, and says with a straight face, "I'm cool, no no, totally fine with this. It's cool"

"Ah, okay then. I'm gonna get ready for bed" I stand up but Sunwoo takes a hold of my wrist and gently pulls me back down to sit with him, a space in between us shows me that he wants to talk.

"You are not forgiven yet" Sunwoo says.
"You said you weren't jealous," I tease.
"I lied."

I just shake my head and sunwoo faces me with a huff.

"It just hurt seeing you warm up to someone so quickly when it took weeks when you were with me." Sunwoo explains. "And it just felt weird hearing them say they knew you since the beginning of high school, because you know, the dimension memory thing, when they've only known you for like a day!!"

Sunwoo raises his voice near the end and I focus on the floor, not daring to look him in the eye. Seeing him yell towards me like this- It's like getting Deja Vu.

"So what if I am jealous?! I'm aloud to be, it would be weirder if I wasn't. I am your boyfriend after all!"

I can feel Sunwoo staring at me, waiting for my response, but I can't look him in the eye, too afraid to show him my fear.

He raises his hand to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear to see my face, but I jerk away from him, mistaking his action for something else.

But I immediately regret it when I see sunwoo's heartbroken face.

"I'm sorry my berry," Sunwoo says immediately. "I shouldn't have yelled, and I shouldn't have made you sit through that, and I shouldn't have tried to make contact right after, I'm so sorry"

"No, that was my fault, I shouldn't have fallen asleep," I slowly look back up at him and he looks genuinely sorry. I never got an apology when my step dad used to yell at me. 

That's right. Sunwoo is not him, not even close. In fact I should stop worrying about my step dad altogether, he's not in this dimension.

"It's not you, I just get too jealous" Sunwoo says truthfully, opening up his arms and I scoot closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder.

"See, my shoulder is the perfect fit for you" Sunwoo adds.

"Of course it is," I say, intertwining my hand with his. "Because we're the perfect match"
