You had promised your dad that you would go to a Chelsea game today, you had never seen him as a manager, only ever as a player.
They were playing Newcastle, you knew a lot about football, which surprised some people, you had grown up in football household, which a dad who was a famous footballer, you never seemed to be able to escape football in your household.
You had a meeting with your new management, you still wanted to continue with your singing career even if you had moved thousands of miles away from La.
You were running slightly late to the game, but what's new? You were always late.
You had no chance to go home and change without missing some of the match, so you headed straight to the match.
You got in time for kick off, you had checked the line up and saw Mason was playing, you two had texted a couple times, but hadn't made any plans or anything like that, not that you expected too.
The game had ended in a Chelsea win, with Mason assisting one of the goals, you headed up to the players lounge to wait for your dad, you were going out to a restaurant to make up for lost time, and the end of the day you had five years to make up for.
You had just been on your phone since you didn't know anyone else, everything had changed over the passed five years, not that you expected it to stay the same, but it was weird.
You were playing plants vs zombies knowing your dad would most likely be the last one out, he always had a weird thing where he always liked to be the last one out, not caring if he was showered and dressed he would wait for however long was needed, you knew this because of having to wait over a hour for him when he still played football and your step mum at the time took you to watch the football with her and the others.
She got annoyed at you for wanting to wait for it, and claimed you would see him when he got home, and that she had other, more important things to do, what happened was that she went home with her real daughters while you waited for your dad by yourself not caring how long you had to wait, then you and your dad always went to McDonalds as a 'treat', then going home, and your step mum acting like she liked you, and that she had to go home because both the daughters were feeling tired, and she didn't think it would be the best idea to stay at the stadium, where it was loud, no matter how much times you told your dad the real story, he would brush it off, and said you were lying to get attention.
You were taken out the name when you heard someone say your name, you looked up to see Mason, with a wide smile plastered on his face "hey good game out there" you said turning your phone off and putting your full attention on Mason "thanks, but at the end of the day it was your dad's tactics that won us the game" he chuckled back "yes I guess your right" you laughed out realising he was right "how come your here alone?" he asked "I'm waiting for my dad, always the last one out, and I promised him I would be at this game" you said "well none of my family are here so move over I'll sit with you while you wait for your dad knowing he could be another 20 minutes" he said while you moved over.
It's as if you and Mason had been friends for ages, the conversation came so easily, you were talking about the game when you heard your dad call your name, you turned around and got up and hugged him "congratulations on the win" you said with a big smile "thanks darling you ready to go" he asked "yeah let me just say goodbye to Mason i'll meet you at the car?" you asked "sure"
You turned back around "so i better get out of here now the old man here, congrats again on the win" you said before heading to the car "y/n wait" Mason shouted running after you "you can easily say no i would completely understand but you maybe i don't know what to go for a meal sometime?" he said scratching the back of his neck "like a date?" you asked "if you want it to be that" you could tell he was nervous "should good text me when your free" you said before turning on your heal and headed out to the car
"Mcdonald's sound good?" Your dad asked "always" you said rolling your eyes
i had a taco bell today it sucked ass
