Declan grinning on the surface but directing vicious barbs at me was making my blood boil. Who did he think he was? Just because another guy was interested, suddenly he's staking a claim. Pffft.

Always the same, a distinct lack of interest until someone else is sniffing around and then it's suddenly, Oh well if someone else likes her there may be something to her. Grr. I was not about to let Declan get away with anymore games.

I stopped short but Declan tightened his grip on my wrist and urged me forwards impatiently. I turned to face him. "What the hell is your problem huh?" Declan pushed me to one side and his eyes were blazing but then he softened.

"You Ashana. You are my problem from the moment i laid eyes on you. Thoughts of you have consumed me." I rolled my eyes so that was his deal, he just made pretty speeches with no follow up.

"I know you don't believe me but your body sure as hell does and with that he lowered his head to kiss me fiercely on the lips." He manoeuvred me expertly against the wall, like it was nothing.

I inadvertently gave him a surprised small yelp as I thought I was losing my footing but as soon as I opened my mouth to gasp he took the opportunity to increase the passion to new heights. His hands traced down my tingling arms and clasped my hands, mashing them tightly together.

Flabbergasted I briefly surrendered to the moment of exquisite wanton abandonment and then I opened my eyes and slapped his face, when I came to my senses and realised I had to force back some much needed self control

As Declan rubbed his cheek and my eyes darted back and forth. Ace put his arms around both of us. "I see you've somewhat made up. It's settled then Ashana/Carina, whatever you call yourself will be our special guest this evening.

I snuck a look at Declan who was trying not to show how worried he was. I thought I noticed a frown but it was replaced with a wide grin. I shook my head, none of this made sense. Perhaps Declan was trying to ditch a particularly annoying acquaintance?

I didn't understand any of this silliness so I would step out and remove myself completely from their games. "Thanks for the generous offer but as I explained I'm here with friends and it would be rude to ditch them."

"It was nice meeting you but I have to go." I turned to scurry away and felt Ace pull me towards him and then kiss my hand. "Oh honey. You can't possibly disappoint me. I was so looking forward to really getting to know you."

"Don't worry I'll keep Declan far away from you, if that will make you feel better and entice you further." I gritted my teeth. "That is not the issue and I can deal with him and put him in his place effortlessly. It's-"

Ace smiled but suddenly there was no warmth in the air. He swung me back around to face him and then directed my attention to my phone which I didn't even realise I had gotten out of my bag.

"Text them your apologies but you have made alternative plans for tonight and will make it up to them soon." I furrowed my brow. Suddenly Ace didn't seem so charming. This was more like an order than a request.

I gave a quizzical look to Declan who just nodded confirming my thoughts that I was out of options. I sent a mass text to my friends and said that something had to come up and I had to leave and reschedule and that I would explain in detail later on.

Seconds later Dex texted me in capitals letters asking what the hell was going on. Ugh. I texted him later and then switched my phone off to wade off any further enquiries. I didn't want to lie to them and Dex would demand answers.
