"Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!"

~1 Chronicles 16:11

Comment:

This is a short verse but the power that lies underneath this short, little sentence is absolutely profound! The Bible is full of reminders, particularly reminders that continue to exhort it's characters and its readers to pursue and seek God with all their hearts!

Apart from God, we can do nothing. He carries all the power. He carries all the strength. When we try to do things ourselves and find that we really can't, we can turn to the Bible and realize what God has to keep telling us over and over again. We must seek him if we are to have any hope of accomplishing anything in this world.

God created something in each of us that I find incredibly amazing. This doesn't apply only to Christians. I'm talking all human beings, believers or not. He created a desire in us that wants to find someone or something to turn to for comfort and to call our god. You see, we can turn to anything and treat it as our idol, but ultimately, that someone or something will not give us that sense of connection that we get when we worship and serve God.

There is a God-shaped void in all of us and no matter how much we try to turn to material things to fill that void, they won't work. They will just make you feel as empty as you did before. Only God can fill that special void and that's why His words in the Bible constantly exhort us to seek and trust him!
