after ending things with miles and leaving after momma got fired, i dropped a lot of old habits. i stopped saying "what on gods green earth" because i don't talk... a lot of people don't miss that, and neither do i.

it's been a journey. i still can't believe all of it. i still have nightmares, and i've had to start taking sleep medication. if i don't take it, i stay awake, biting my nails and picking my skin until i bleed. i'm terrified of him.

what if he finds me?

"coming!" i quickly get out of my thoughts and run downstairs. i open the door to be met with Jace, my boyfriend. "hi!" i say with a smile. "i missed you" i say and hug him. "hey, i missed you too" he says with a smile, hugging me as well.

"come in" i say, "my mom is just over there," i let him inside and close the door, walking over to momma. "hey, Jace is here if you wanna say hi" i say to her, she gets up slowly. "i'd love to meet the boy," she smiles once she sees him.

"hello, i'm Satine's mom, you can call me kate" she says, shaking his hand. "hello, i'm jace, i've heard so much about you, it's nice to meet you" he says, smiling, his kind eyes crinkling a bit.

"i'm glad we finally met... i'm glad we moved on..." she looks at me with sad eyes, but they weren't only sad... they were tired.. and happy, like she finally had closure...
