Assalam aleikum warahmatullah wabarakaatuhu.

Before we begin, we should not forget to welcome this holy month with a duaa.

The following dua is what each and every one of us should recite upon the sight of the moon.

Allahu Akbar

Allahumma ahillahu alaynaa bil- amni Wal iimani, wassalaamati Wal Islaam

Wattawfiiqi limaa tuhibbu watardhwa, rabbunaa warabbuka llahu.

Translation.

Allah is the Most Great.

O Allah bring us the new moon with security and faith, with peace and in Islam, and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him.

Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.
