The day of Eidul adh-ha falls on the tenth day of Dhul-Hijja.

Muslims celebrate Eidul adh-ha to commemorate prophet's Ibrahim devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered instead of Ismail.

This was a test of Prophet Ibrahim's willingness and commitment to obey His Lord's command without question.

Therefore, Eidul adh-ha means the festival of sacrifice.

A few things to do on this day:

1. Taking bath(ghusl) before going for the prayer.

2. Adorning oneself with best dress and fragrance.

4. Saying takbeer aloud.

5. Using two different routes for going for the prayer and coming back.

Note.

Do not forget to pray swalatul Fajr on this day since it is a fardh(compulsory) prayer.
