6. Ignorance Is Bliss?

Media turning our heads away,

from the needy and the stray;

Disregarding the bottom of the food chain,

heed is paid only to political play.

So consumed with the wrong things,

The trivial debates, the latest flings;

While crimson red paints the streets,

an innocent suffering, a muffled screech.

====

Looking down and looking away,

two faces of the same coin;

But they'd rather let the haggards sway,

than let the bare-bones and the brawny enjoin.

====

Making a racket and raising your voice,

are not much of a muchness;

Uplifting the alley residents?

Serenity will bloom with abruptness.
