; we can only pretend for so long
but it's too heavy and I am not that strong
like rain, it's pouring down
like acid, it's sinking into our skin
I thought that we had grown but
the line we're walking on is thin
we didn't grow, only grew apart
I should have known from the start
maybe I should stop
to put the blame on everyone else
it's an issue deep inside
an issue hidden in plain sight
