//Anne-Marie was starting to get a little worried. Her boyfriend had been in the house for a while now, and she hadn't heard from or seen him. As she unbuckled and went to get out, she heard sirens and looked back in time to see an ambulance swing to a stop just behind her.
She immediately jumped out the car and ran into the house. As she rounded the corner into the lounge, she froze and stared in horror. Seconds later, two paramedics rushed in behind her and nearly shoved her to the side.
Ant was kneeling next to Dec, hands coated in blood and tears streaming down his face. He looked up at the noise and squeaked out a, "Help him, please," Through tears and snot, and the paramedics got straight to work.
"Immobilise his neck, Carl, we need to get a move on," The first medic said, urgency in his voice, and the second medic immediately placed his hands on either side of Dec's pale face, holding his head still.
Ant was gently pushed back and Anne-Marie took that moment to wrap her arms around him. The Geordie was sobbing, staring at his best friend as he lay deadly still, blood still oozing from his head onto the carpet below. Ant watched in fear and indescribable worry, silently praying for a positive outcome.
Time would only tell what the future of Ant and Dec looked like.
//
Anne-Marie and Ant pulled up to the hospital 20 minutes later. Both beyond worried and scared for the small Geordie lad they both adored. The medics were quick and efficient, gathering Dec's limp body onto a stretcher and hurrying out the house. It all felt like a blur to Ant, nothing seemed real.
As they made their entrance into the emergency department, they were met by a middle aged nurse who recognised Ant and immediately took them to a private waiting room. "Mr Donnelly's doctor will be out soon to give you an update. I have no information as of right now, but you're welcome to stay in here," Mary, as her name tag read, said as she smiled warmly.
Anne-Marie thanked her and guided her boyfriend into a chair. Ant, for the most part, was numb. All he could see was the images of his best friend crying out in pain and covered in blood. Nothing seemed real anymore. He hoped this was all a nightmare that he'd soon wake up from and Dec would be alright.
As the couple sat in silence, Anne-Marie stood and announced that she'd call Ali and inform her of what happened. She waited for a response from Ant, but when she got none, she sighed and quietly left the room. Ant just stared ahead, watching a spot on the wall in front of him, completely unaware of anything around him.
