Love and War

The day came where Jane would finally reveal what she, Ron, and Hermione had been working on for so long. They were so excited for Draco to see the surprise, Jane almost cracked several times that day. All of her classes are with the blonde boy except for her last one, which was Astronomy. She was actually quite good with science. Malfoy often asked Jane for help when it came to the assignments and homework.

Hermione and Ron's part in the plan was to be in the Gryffindor Tower all night. It's their date night and they had a romantic movie night planned. Jane would be taking Draco into the Room of Requirement and that's where to plan would start. She had the night all together, the times and places, all down to the very steps they may even take to finish the night.

"Hello my love. Happy Anniversary." Draco wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her cheeks.

"Happy Anniversary, baby." Jane smiled and turned to face the boy she loved.

Jane pulled him in for a kiss, but almost immediately pulled away when kids started whistling and clapping as they passed the couple. Draco rolled his eyes, ushering his lover away from the wandering eyes. Finally reaching the Slytherin Common Room, Malfoy had placed Potter on his lap, kissing down her neck.

She bit her lip as he placed kisses all over her neck and started to make his way down to her chest. Jane stopped him before anything could escalate further. The girl wanted to save any activities until after the plan had been put into action. Which reminded her, it was time to get going if they were going to make it in time.

"C'mon darling. I've a surprise for you." Jane took his hand in hers and led him out of the Common Room into the corridor.

"Where are we going?" He followed happily.

The Hufflepuff shrugged her shoulders and just kept walking. After a few minutes of sneaking around professors and staff, Jane had finally reached the Room of Requirement. Hermione left the incantation hidden behind one of the loose bricks on the wall. Jane spoke the words written on the parchment and watched as the Room appeared right before their eyes. Draco looked over at his lover with curious eyes. He had completely forgotten that even existed.

She wrapped a blindfold around his icy blues, guiding him to the spot. He was stopped by an arm at his waist and the light shining into his eyes. Jane was seated on a blue and white plaid blanket, surrounded by all of Draco's favourite food.

Pistachio ice cream, strawberry ice cream, green apple slices with caramel, green and red grapes, cherries, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, tomato soup, grilled cheese, and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. Draco was speechless! He never had anyone do this for him. Jane pulled him down by his sleeve, making the boy sit beside her. Once he was comfortable, the couple started eating. The obviously saved the deserts for last. It was only right, y'know?

After the food had been eaten, Jane stood and gestured for Draco to follow her. He got up and made his way to his girlfriend. She revealed a room full of every single picture the couple had ever taken together. Malfoy felt the tears come to his eyes. Jane really was the love of his life. He could never imagine himself with anyone else. She came into his life and showed him so much support, kindness, care, love, acceptance, and loyalty. He knew he had picked the right night to do what he was about to.

When Jane had turned her back to him to reminisce on a picture, Draco got down on one knee and pulled a ring from his pocket. She turned back to ask him something but instantly covered her mouth with her hands and cried. Was he really doing this? Did he mean it? Is he being serious?

"Jane Louise Potter, you have made me the happiest I have ever been. You've always been there for me and you've done nothing but treat me like a king. I cannot not and will not imagine life without the love of my life by my side. So, Jane, will you make me the luckiest man alive, and will you marry me?" Draco opened the box and presented the ring to her.
