A/N: For reference, it's jumping back to where the last Zayn chapter left off. Enjoy! :)

"I've always kind of wanted to know what it felt like to kiss a boy." Liam softly admitted. Zayn met his eyes with a curious and thoughtful gaze.

"Are you saying that as, like, a general statement? Or a let's experiment statement?" Zayn asked, and Liam laughed.

"It was meant more as experimental, but if you don't want to--" Liam started.

"Lima. I'm fine with it," Zayn began, "But what if this fucks up our friendship?"

"One kiss won't change things, Zee." Liam insisted. He was trying to remain calm, but his heart thumped in his chest at the thought of kissing his best friend.

"If you're sure." Zayn responded, and Liam nodded. Zayn lightly grabbed Liam's hand, and leaned in towards him. He paused for one last glance of confirmation, to which Liam nodded again. Zayn's lips softly brushed against his, and the sensation sent shivers through Liam's body. He then fully pressed his lips on Liam's, gently moving them around. Even though Liam was nervous to do it, he pulled his hand up and rested it on Zayn's cheek and lightly brushed his thumb up and down. Their lips molded together, and Liam truly believed he would never experience something so magnificent in his life ever again. Zayn's lips were rough and plump, and he never wanted to forget the way they felt against his own. Zayn rested his hand on Liam's knee before pulling away gently and smiling.

"Wow." Was all Liam was able to say, and he mentally slapped himself for it.

"You're a good kisser Li." Zayn joked before casually standing up and walking over to his water bottle. It bothered Liam that Zayn wasn't as affected by the kiss as he was, and he wasn't sure why.

"Thanks." He weakly replied, zoning out and staring at the carpet below him.

"You okay?" Zayn asked once he turned around.

"Yeah." Liam sighed, and Zayn bit his lip in concern.

"Are you regretting it?" He asked. Liam whipped his head up to face Zayn.

"No! Not at all, just processing." Liam assured, grabbing his hand in comfort.

"Okay." Zayn smiled. "Do you want to do something fun today? I gotta shower but then we can go out. Might as well."

"Sure, what were you thinking?" Liam stood up.

"We're definitely getting lunch, and I kind of wanted to go to the music shop downtown. That sound good?" Zayn picked up some clothes and slung them over his shoulder.

"Yeah, sounds perfect." Liam smiled warmly.

"Alright. If you wanna shower or anything you know you're more than welcome to use the guest bathroom." Zayn walked by and quickly pecked him on the cheek, something not abnormal to their friendship but somehow more meaningful to Liam.

"Thanks." He smiled and Zayn left the room. Everything felt messy now, but Zayn obviously wasn't as torn about all of this. He flopped down on the bed, and ran his fingers over his lips, trying to remember what it felt like. It was at that moment that it hit him.

He doesn't like boys. What the fuck was he thinking?

Liam started to mildly panic and pace around Zayn's room, chewing on his nails in attempt to comfort himself. Does he like boys? It's true, he's always wanted to kiss one, but mostly just Zayn. There was never really a general attraction to men as a whole.

"You okay Li?" Oh fuck. Zayn walked back in the room with a towel hanging low on his waist, his abs on full display which made Liam gulp.

"Yeah, I, uh, just..." He trailed off, not knowing what to say and at a loss for words by the art in front of him.

"Liam, spit it out." Zayn laughed and pulled a t-shirt over his head.

"I don't know." He sighed and sat on Zayn's bed.

"Hey, is this about the kiss?" Zayn asked and sat next to him, Liam just nodded in response to his question. "What's going on? Talk to me." Zayn rested his hand on Liam's thigh.

"I wasn't supposed to like it." Liam mumbled.

"Huh?" Zayn leaned in to hear.

"I wasn't supposed to like it." Liam said a little louder.

"Oh. Why not?" Zayn asked curiously.

"Because I'm straight."

"Well, maybe you're not if you liked it."

"Did you like it?" Liam turned to him.

"Of course I did. I wouldn't have said that you're a good kisser if I didn't mean it." Zayn assured, but Liam just sighed again. "Hey," Zayn cupped his face, "Quit stressing about it. You have all the time in the world to figure it out, no one's telling you who to be."

"Says the one who didn't come out for two years." Liam argued, and Zayn's face hardened.

"Li, you know my parents. They aren't as open minded as yours are, or liberal is what they call it in the States."

"I know. I'm sorry that they're like that, but you still could've told me. I thought we were that close." Liam looked at him.

"We are. Stop doubting it, I didn't tell you because of it being you, I just wasn't ready to come out. I'm not sure if I ever would've been ready." Zayn shrugged.

"I understand. But I'm still glad it happened." Liam admitted.

"Me too. I would've never gotten the guts to say something." They both sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments before Zayn got up.

"I'll drive?" He offered.

"Actually, is it okay if I just go home? I didn't sleep very well last night, and I'm still not feeling the best." Liam avoided eye contact.

"Oh. Yeah, okay. Are you sure you're alright? I can come over and take care--"

"No, no. That's okay, but thank you for the offer." Liam tried to give him a convincing smile.

"Well, if you change your mind I was planning on going to Ava Lancaster's party tonight. You could come with me if you're feeling better."

"Thanks Zee, I'll let you know." Liam felt awful cancelling on Zayn, but he had some shit to figure out and being with the person who made this a problem in the first place wasn't a good idea.

"Okay." Zayn smiled weakly back. "This doesn't have to be weird now Li. I'm sorry if you feel like it is."

"I don't feel like it's weird, I just need some time to think and recover." Liam grabbed his belongings from Zayn's room and went down the stairs with him right on his tail.

"Drive safe." Zayn opened the door, and Liam turned around to give him a hug. As per usual, he melted into Zayn's arms and wanted to stay there forever. Knowing that was what made him pull away.

"See you later." He waved.

"Bye."
