a stumbling law student was running through the seemingly empty and damp streets, trying her hardest not to lose the strawberry pink beret hat on her head to the wind with a hand over it.

why was she running, you ask? she was late. again.

it seemed to be the norm for her by now, both her and you were used to it. though no matter how used you were to it, you couldn't help but get a bit irritated.

your foot bounced up and down beneath the dark wooden table, whilst you sighed in exhaustion and the thought of the next month being filled with rain followed up by snow.

sure, you didn't mind the weather in itself, but getting drenched due to your anti-remembrance of bringing an umbrella or catching a fever from it was what did it for you.

you checked your phone once again in expectation of some sort of message from her, notifications on silent as always, yet nothing.

a certain running figure from the outside stole your attention before you could connect to the cafés wifi. yanfei had a look of urgency in her eyes yet her lips were curled in a smile. you furrowed your brows at the sight in sheer confusion.

the sound of the golden bell above the cafés entrance made you look towards it, a heavy-breathing yanfei shaking her umbrella and dunking it in the holder to dry. she scurried over quickly.

–"what's up with you?" you started as you observed her every move, "also you're late. again"

she sunk into the soft velvet seat, clasping her hands in gratitude at the sight of the coffee in front of her that she knew you ordered for her.

–"well, Y/N my dearest, THIS is why i'm late"

right as she finished her sentence she managed to dig up her phone from her bag, showing you something on it that you tried your hardest to read.

–"what is it-" you began to ask, but stopped and clasped a palm over your mouth to stop yourself from erupting into laughter right then and there.

–"we've been compromised, we need a new plan!" she insisted, taking a big sip of the dark brown liquid.

–"forget him! mr. lee isn't giving me a break with all of this work, you have to help me somehow" you ranted to yanfei who was still holding the phone in her hand, scrolling through the thread.

the notebook and laptop underneath your hands on the table were apparently invisible to her sight, so you wiped your hand across your face and dragged your cheek downwards.

–"i'll help you, don't worry" she said with complete sincerity even though she was still swiping her finger over her screen.

you sighed once again.

–"mr. lee? you said mr. lee?" yanfei asked with one eyebrow raised.

–"yeah, why?" you nodded.

–"same! he's at my tail all the time, he's so annoying" she rolled her eyes as she put her phone away.

the sound of the doors opening, the bell dinging and a few voices talking to each other in a hurried tone erupted from the entrance of the café and yanfei couldn't help but take a peek.

she ducked, literally. you raised a brow at the action, coming under the table with her to see her hugging her knees.

–"dude, what's wrong?" you asked, on your knees and palms.

she didn't respond and you sighed in annoyance, looking out into the café once again to see a long haired brunette girl and two other girls. one had a navy blue bob while the other had her dark brown hair up in two space buns.
