Childhood ends with me

I saw kids locked in a room
Giving books yet they Facebook
Then I remembered the days of yore
When I was but the compound Lilly
Days I spent in the country side
Where freedom like air is free for all
When rainfall drenched our soft skin
And with nail we thrust the earth on a box under the rain
Indeed childhood ends with me

Far gone the moonlight tale
Of the crafty tortoise and his group of friends
Also of the poor blind begger
whose melodious voice entices the prince
Yes indeed childhood ends with me

Should I tell you of our drama group
Without producer and director, we made a great story
Of papa, Mama and the play kids
When papa always goes to work
with his condemned motorcycle Tyre
And Mama remains at home
to cook with her empty cans
the stuffs she bought from the rich man's bin
Of a truth, childhood ends with me

Should I also tell you of our various games
The joy of playing football under the rain
The happiness derived from hide and seek
Or the act of catching a thief from our police and thief
Should I tell you of boji boji, petu, on your maths and suwe
Have you wondered the act of skipping rope, bird hunting and the craft of producing a car
Oh, I guess your childhood isn't like mine
Cause childhood ends with me
