The morning comes and goes and we don't leave his house. People stop by but I stay tucked in my bedroom. He got me a diary like I asked for and I wrote about everything he told me.

Mates

Werewolf's never have mates besides wolves and humans who are usually late bloomers

Elves are doctors. Extremely smart. Some are scientists. Extremely smart. But not limited to scientists.

Pixies are smart as well, but builders. Extremely well at it.

Witches and warlocks make brews and potions for the doctors.

Vampires, well they are just about everything but usually the warriors like the woods are. Wolf's keep more to themselves though.

The human population here was six. All mates. All in the werewolf's community but myself.

Vampires can not have children, many adopt.

Wolf's have children, so do fairy's, elves, witches, and pixies.

Vampires eat food, but must drink blood to survive.

They heal quickly, and their blood can heal others.

Changing process, unknown.

I must have fallen asleep because I heard yelling in the living room and I darted up. "Why is she here?!" I recognize Luca. "She's mine." I hear Alex. His voice is deep. Almost ferrell. "Ah. A mate then." He's teasing Alex. "Why does Luca matter?" "Because…" he starts but stops. "We have a listener." I stumble out with my face beat red. "sorry we woke you." He puts his arm around me and Luca stares. I feel bad for Luca, there's a sadness that washes over me and I can't put it together. "I have to go. A meeting. Luca...I asked him to watch you. He won't harm you."  I don't want him to go, and I'm not used to the feeling. He kisses my forehead. "I'll be back later." Before I can protest, he's gone.

"You know you can talk to me right?" Luca says. It's strange, because they are almost identical in facial features. "Can you tell me if there's books on mates?" His eye brows furrow. But I feel his confusion. "I'm sure there's some at the library. Why? I can answer a lot if you want." "Alex told me there's a mate for everyone, does anyone get more than one mate?" He nods. "It's not as u

common as one may think. Usually, there are souls that connect. Usually, it's two siblings or sometimes close relatives who find a mare. Since siblings are the most common, it makes sense, since they already share their soul. Why?" "I...I'm not sure. Alex says it's common to feel emotions. He feels mine but I don't feel his." "Vampires have heightened senses, so it's easier for us." "But I feel yours." I blurt out. His eyes widened. "I didn't think you could feel it." "Does Alex know?" "I'm sure he does. But we haven't discussed it." "What about if you reject me? Is that the same as if my only mate rejected me?" "Not entirely no. Honestly, I've only met a handful of couples like this, and they all accepted each other." "What about jealousy?" He smirks. "Men are usually the worst at that huh? It's always like that. Two men. But back when mates started, men were the providers so it just kinda started that way. Alex, he will have to understand that, we have to share you." "I'm not staying forever." "What's keeping you from doing so?" "I have a family at home. Work. An apartment." It's all a lame excuse. "Mmhm. Okay." He steps towards me. Lust. I feel it like a wave. He touches me, it's warm. His lips are soft on my forehead. I close my eyes, everything in my body what's up. "I accept you." He whispers. "I...accept you." He smirks at me. "I am gonna go find my lovely brother. You should come." Leave the house? Yes.
