The morning went by awkwardly. Nobody talked as we ate. But I wanted so many questions answered. Why couldn't I remember everything from my last? Had they figured out if I could go home? Do I want to go home? I had put on the potion and showered and the scars were gone but I could still feel them. "Are you mad at me or something?" Alex snaps his head up and Luca rolls his eyes. "No." They answer in unison. "Then why is no one talking?" They don't respond. I stand to leave when Luca stops me. "I just learned someone fucked with what is mine Aria. I want to fucking kill him. And I can't right now. So I'm trying not to take my anger out by yelling at you in accident." "Fucking ditto." Alex mutters. Oh. "You want to kill him?" Usually, if I hear that, I know it's an expression. But I don't think they are joking.."yes." They say, no hesitation. Something's wrong with me, because this makes me feel the opposite of sick, it excites me. I don't say that, because I can't even wrap my mind around it. "I want to know where the blood comes from." I tell them. "Blood banks." Alex says, waving it off. I stomp off into the room and slam the door. I lock it like it would actually keep them out and open my book.

Feeding process:
Vampires are required to drink blood, to survive. This ranges from a pint to as little as a drop, depending on the condition of the vampire. If injured, the vampire can requires as up to six pints of blood to heal themselves depending on the extent of the injuries. Before the islands were created, vampires mostly fed directly from humans. Most, were careful to seal the wound and leave. But there were some vampires, usually new, who would kill their victim and sometimes it was intentional. This is now punishable by prison or even death. To seal the wound, the vampire must simply lick the wound. When a human is bit by a vampire, it releases a venom, causing them to slowly fall asleep, making them forget what happened to them. This is not the case with mates. The venom releases a feeling of lust in the human. But the body knows when enough is enough, because this will fade and pain will slowly start from an ache to excruciating.

Changing process:
The changing process is usually done by mates, as it is painful. Vampires must feed on the human, draining the human and replacing it with blood. The human will pass out, usually sooner than needed as the pain will be like fire. The new vampire will be 'asleep' or dead for anywhere from 8-24 hours, depending on the bodies time to heal. When they wake up, they will be confused. There abilities will grow steadily, as to help them adjust. All new vampires must drink blood within twenty for hours, or the body will die and stay this way. There are extremely rare cases the body rejects the change, and the new vampires will not wake up. One in a million, but usually has to do with underlying conditions they have, such as certain sickness. This is why people with cancer, pneumonia, or even something as little as the flu, may want to reconsider trying to change until they get better or even at all.
