Smile parading on her face
Perky girls hide the pain
Tell a joke laugh off your fear
Keep eyes wide with gleeful cheer or twilights tears
All alone her face falls the happiness wiped away
Her masquerade a shattering affair
To hide the bruises her favorite black dress
She tells me she learned from the best
The mirror I see the broken glass
My eyes damp a smirk laid to rest
