summer floats by
on a sun-soaked wave
of technicolor delights
and slow days
smudged together
into an abstract painting
of bliss
and moments lived
in time-distorted memories
that are sighing balms
and false remedies
for the souls who don't know
how to make more,
for the souls content
with only the weak current
of worn-out memories
rushing through them
to cool their hearts
on balmy days
like a tepid glass
of lemonade
that's too sweet
after the first sip.
