"Here comes your mother, and she doesn't look happy," spoke boran. The children gulped in fear as Halima sultan came forth, 'we're so dead' they all thought. But to their surprise, Halima hatun crouched and gave goktug his hat back that she had behind her. "You forgot your hat, dear," she said. All kids let out of sigh of relief. 'T...thank you, Halima hatun!!" shuttered goktug. "Your most welcome!" she smiled at the boy and turned around to leave when she heard "she doesn't know!" said Osman, Halima turned around "what don't I know, Osman?" she raised a question, cocking her eyebrow. Osman gulped and taunted himself for saying that, 'Ahmak Osman! Now think of a response,'
"You don't know uh-......." he began, failing to form his statements as he stared at his mother's deep glares. "That how much he loves you," continued aslihan while smiling sheepishly. "Yes yes..... I haven't told you how much I love you! Guzel Ana'um!!" stated Osman. Halima smiled at her son, ruffled his hair, "I love you too, öglum". She then asked, "do you know where your brother gunduz is?"
"He's in the training area!" he countered, still looking terrified as he gazes at his mother's deep eyes. Halima took off to the training area then Osman uttered, "that was close"
"It sure was!" spoke konur. "Thanks for saving my butt, aslihan abla," asserted Osman. "No problem Osman."That night,
At the family diner table
"Baba what tree is the arrows made of, which are used for targeting?" questioned gunduz, curiously. "They are made of cedar wood, son....why do you ask?" Queried ertagrul bey. "Just in case, boran asks me again...he's been 'bugging' me all day with questions like these" [get it bugging, bugs..... 😄 (jk)] answered gunduz, glimpsing at osman. "Gees He was just curious abi .....you can't blame someone for that" this sudden response from osman made everyone at the table laugh.Halima eyed savci, sitting at the end of the table with the food that he wasn't eating the food, rather he was reading the book that arkut bey had given him. "Savci'um! Put the book down, my dear....eat your food" announced Halima. "But ana...." he began, Halima scowled at him [mom stare]. "Fine!" he placed the book down, hesitantly "what have you learnt, my boy?" asked ertagrul bey with a grin.
"spiders baba, lots and lots of them!!" he yakked, happily. Osmanchoked on some water he was drinking. "Osman are you okay?" asked halima. "E...evet" answered osman, nervously.
"What is it that you have learnt about spiders, my dear?" asked hayme ana. "Nene I learnt that nearly all spiders have venom in them......." this statement made osman gasp in fear, thankfully it didn't get a notice by anyone. "Except for some spiders.....like uh......peper.....something...[Parasteatoda tepidariorum]....they're not deadly" he continued. Osman sighed a breath of relief and hoped that the spiders he brought weren't deadly, either way, he knew he's in great trouble for bringing them into the marquee.
Now for the best part
"Heyde my lamps....time to sleep," Halima hatun said, taking the three in their room.
Gunduz lifted his blanket and screamed as loud as he could when he saw the spiders.
"Gunduz'um!" Halima ran to him. Her gazelle eyes also widened when she saw the spiders. "How did these get here?" she raised a question. "I don't know I don't know just get them out of my bed.....!!!" answered gunduz, still looking at the spiders
At the corner of Halima's eye, she saw osman seeking out of the room, "osman!!! Do you have something to do with this?" "n...no!" lied the seven-year-old. "He's lying" stated gunduz. "Of course he is" Halima crossed her arms and gave him 'the mom-stare'
Osman quivered from inside, he wanted to run away. "I...uh-" he began, nervously. "Yes, go on" spoke Halima.
"Did I ever tell you how much I love you?" he said, recalling from earlier, but this time instead of caressing him, she lowered her head meeting Osman's dark eyes. She whispered, "you can't have done this alone, who was with you?"
"I..uh- I mean.....b..boran, konur, aslihan, goktug, aybars!" he shuttered, scaredly. "Hm....bring them over, and you all start catching these spiders" spoke Halima as she stood back up. Osman nodded and ran off......Osman barged in the 'tiny alps tent'. "GUYS!!! WE're dead meat....ana found out"
"What are you saying, osman?" asked konur in disbelief. "You heard me...we're toast, baked, cooked, roasted, in short we're DEAD" he repeated. "Why didn't you escape?" asked boran. "I was going to but ana stopped me!" he answered.
"Now what?" goktug raised a question. "Now.....we'll have to catch the bugs as our punishment," he answered. "We'll have to catch the......the Spiders?" boran gulped in fear. Konur addressed him smirkingly "yes unless you're scared?". "N....no" boran shuttered.
"Ooh he's scared!"
