The bully was pressed with charges and could never go back to their college. George was okay. He's finally okay with all these years and that couldn't have happened without Dream by his side. George was still scarred but that scar was for sure, healing but he didn't know that that healing was acid instead. It will wait for him and it will make the scar bigger and stingier. It will hurt that it might change him.
Today was their monthly anniversary. Just three(3) more months then they've loved each other for three(3) years through Dream seemed to forget about it. Here they are just sitting on the couch. George's eyes were on the screen in front of him yet his focus was on the guy that he loved so much beside him.
Dream was on his phone, typing his fingers away. He would also smile once in a while for some reason. This has occurred for the past two(2) months and George badly wondered why. George secretly hoped that it was a good reason. George's knees were up to the chest and his head laid on Dream's shoulder.
George has never been happier in those amount of time. He doesn't know about Dream though. They've been so sweet. They'd have the best sex ever. They've gifted each other some adorable surprises and the best of everything but today was different. A bad difference. George could feel the stinging on his heart as it pounded through his rib cage. Everything was muffled as he remembered their happy moments. He was hurting but his significant another left unbothered. It's amusing in a way.
No tears came out as he suppressed it, sniffling. It was very noticeable but Dream doesn't seem to hear. His gaze was on the bright screen. George could only hear the sounds of typing and the sounds of message bubbles come up over and over again. Why was he hurting? Was he doubting their... relationship?
George doesn't care. He doesn't care about presents and surprises on their relationship milestones. As long as Dream was there by his side even though the time was running out he will savor the moment. He loved Dream and the thought of Dream and him breaking up made his stomach churn. Dream was everything. His world. His life. His sanity. Everything.
'Dream's not gonna leave you George' he told himself and sighing.
He snuggled closer trying to get the other's warmth. He was responded with a click of the tongue so he stopped. What happened?
He doesn't know either. One day Dream just visited his family and he came back being... like this. Dream stood up saying that he will be sleeping leaving George on the couch with no goodnight nor kiss, just his thoughts blurring his vision.
What if the thing that he was so scared of finally found him?
His whole body collapsed on the couch as his hands and lips trembled. The tears that he once kept began to uncontrollably pour. He slapped his shaky hands on his mouth as a sob tried to escape. The guy from the television seemed to laugh at him, mocking him for being so gullible.
Is love even real at this point?
'No, Dream loves me' he kept repeating as he tried to block his intrusive thought but it was so much louder and more dominant than his words.
He tried to click the pause button wanting a break, just a small break, or his body and heart would break on their own. It was just a painful sight. He was lovesick. He was longing for the love of his life that was once giving him kisses now cold as Antarctica. He longed for the warmth that he was always longing for from day one. The warmth that gave him happiness and life.
What happened. What happened. What happened.
Has Dream finally realized how worthless George is? Has he realized that he never once loved George? Or maybe he should realize how much he can hurt someone.
And George was that someone. He was more than hurt. The couch seemed to consume him, bringing him into the pit of darkness. It was near dawn but he was wide awake. The pang of jealousy and pain kept him awake making his eyes sting. He only blinked it. He was here having a breakdown as Dream snored in his sleep.
George was still happy. Not for him but for Dream. If Dream was cheating on him he would be okay. Though his heart will not. At least Dream found someone better.
'No, he's not cheating' there it is again. Him giving himself hope. Though those hopes feel... right? This was very confusing. What did George do wrong for Dream to turn into a once sweet angel now a monster that hunted and lurked George?
Everything rushed back. The sad memories. The time where he was depressed. The old him. Was it even him?
All George could do was stare at the wall that was now slowly hit by orange colors. The sunrise. He sat up, turning his body and placing his head on the back of the couch watching the sunrise from the large window that was facing the kitchen and living room. The warmth hit his face but it wasn't enough. It wasn't the warmth that he wanted. He watched the sunrise appeared from the mountains. It comforted George for a bit but the comfort felt fake.
It's like the comfort you get from your fake friends. From the people that didn't love you yet, they kept telling you that they do. Lying bullshits. A guy emerged from the spiral staircase. He was slouched and non-energetic. He didn't even spare George a good morning yet George still smiled and waited in the kitchen. As soon as Dream arrived at the kitchen, he went straight for the cupboards looking for food. George's smile faltered a bit as he walked towards Dream, hugging Dream from behind.
He buried his face on Dream's back, kissing and mumbling a greet of 'good morning' Dream responded but the once loving tone that sounded like music in George's ears was gone. The once sweet melody turned into distorted words. It was simple but it was better than none. At least Dream still acknowledged his presence. After Dream made their breakfast, they ate in silence. The silence was just... silence. Not comfortable but not uncomfortable either. Just silence.
The sun was up when they ate. George's eyes were stingy and droopy from the lack of sleep and from overthinking.
Dream loves me.
