It was a bright day in Manhattan, New York, and Jade's move-in day. Boxes were piled up around her one-bedroom studio apartment. She didn't have a lot of things but that's Jade for you. Collected and minimal. She only kept the most valuable and necessary things with her. She rarely kept things like Birthday cards or any other unnecessary gifts. To her, they were simply an item she held no attachment to and almost a waste of space. This fact would often upset her friends and family but with a kind genuine smile, Jade would always say, "It's nothing personal." They'd gotten used to it, of course. Years with Jade, you learn to know how she lives.
