Bro to Bro Convo

It was getting really late and we decided that we should head back. We showered together and I let him lay on my chest as he slowly drifted off to sleep. The hours passed and I laid in bed wide awake. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about Kellin and how good I felt when I was with him. I just wanted to hold him in my arms forever and never let him go. He meant everything to me.

I looked over at the clock and it read 3:00AM in bright, bold letters. I picked up my phone from the night stand and dialed Mike. Mike was not only my brother, but he was also my best friend as well. I could talk to him about anything.

He picked up on the second ring. "Hello? Vic? You alright man?", he asked as I slowly got up from the bed and stepped out onto the balcony, careful not to awaken Kellin. "Yeah dude. I'm fine. Were you asleep?", I asked

"Nah. I was just downstairs having a staring contest with the fish in our aquarium", he said and I laughed. "Anyways, what's up? Something you want to talk about?"

"Yeah", I said slowly as I rubbed the back of my neck. "It's Kellin"

"Everything alright with you two? What's wrong?", he asked in a panicked voice.

"Nothing's wrong. Everything's actually waaaay too right", I said. I knew that I wasn't making sense and I didn't know how to form my thoughts correctly. "Can we just meet out front?", I asked him.

"Of course bro. Talk to you in a few", he said before hanging up. I tip-toed quietly back into the room, slipped on a jacket and a pair of sandals and headed downstairs. Mike was already sitting on their front porch and waiting on me when I arrived. I walked over and took a seat beside him.

"Dude, you look really pale", he stated

I let out a small sigh. "Yeah, I know", I said simply.

"So what's going on?", he asked me

"Mike, you know that I love Kellin. I mean, he's the most awesome, amazing... most beautiful person I've ever dated. I.. I don't want to lose him", I fumbled with my words. I could tell that Mike was confused and was wondering what I was actually trying to say. "What I'm trying to say is that... that I want to marry him", I said nervously.

Mike sat back in his seat, crossed his arms, nodded his head, and put on his signature smirk. After a moment of quietness, I broke the silence and said "So what do you think?"

"Dude, I say that you totally go for it. I see that way that you two look at each other. I know that you're both head over heels for each other so.. yeah... I say that you definitely go for it", he said with a thumbs up of approval. That's why I loved Mike so much. He totally understands me and has always got my back.

"Thanks bro", I said with a big smile. "He spent so much on this vacation for us and it's amazing . So while we're here, I'd like to propose to him", I said and he nodded his head.

"Kellin Fuentes", he said with a corny smile. I just rolled my eyes and flipped him off. "You do know that you won't be getting married anytime soon, right? You know.. with his divorce just starting and all", he reminded me.

"Yeah. I know. I just want him to know how much I love him and finally get to claim him as my own", I said. Just then, Jaime walks out rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Vic? Mike? What're you guys tallkin' bout?", he asked with slurred words.

"Oh, just the usual bro to bro conversation", Mike answered.

"Oh... well Mike, come back to bed. I can't sleep without your warm body next to me", Jaime said jokingly.

"Ew, no", Mike said as he make a disgusting look towards Jaime. I laughed and stood up.

"Well, it's about time I go try and get a little shut eye finally", I said as I stood on my toes and stretched. Jaime said goodnight to me and walked back into the house.

I lowered my voice and whispered to Mike, "Want to help me pick out a ring tomorrow?"

He nodded his head and stretched his arms. "Of course I do", he said as he gave me a manly pat on the back. "Goodnight lil big bro. Try to get a bit of shut eye. Big day tomorrow", he winked at me.

I tipped back into the house and up the stairs and back into bed. "Vic?", Kellin stirred.

"Shhh, I'm here baby", I whispered to him. A smile spread across his face and he laid down on my chest and snuggled closely to me. "I love you", he mumbled before he closed his eyes again.

"I love you more, Kellin", I answered back...
