You are better than this,

You are more than a name.

More than a body.

You are bigger than this.

The power, the fury,

The burning wrath that fills your bones.

They say you are only one,

What could you do, you can't change anything.

But they forget, you are more than this.

You are a patchwork of identities,

A collection of lives, past and present.

You aren't a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean.

They can laugh,

But in the end, they will fall.

And out of the ruins, you will rise.

Their world is crumbling.

Protests in every American state,

The rallying call Black lives matter.

They divide.

Black, White, Asian.

Straight, Gay, Ace.

Cis or Trans.

Not you,

You are more than one,

A community of thousands.

They can do their worst,

But there will always be more of you.
