•Part 3•

"I'll go." John b says grabbing the raft from the sand.

"I'll come too!" Sarah says standing behind him.

They walk out to the water and push out the float with Jj's help. They sit on the float and drift out into the water. Jj walks over to me and stands next to me.

"Do you wanna go on it?" He asks looking down.

"Sure" I say, "Cleo you coming?" I ask and she shakes her head.

"Nah girl I don't like going in the water too much." She replies and adds on, "go with jj or something."

She turns around back to the water to see John b and Sarah coming back in.

"Bad news, we saw a shark fin a little way out so maybe we should leave it till later to let the girls try?" John b says lifting the raft from the water.

"Yea for sure." I say and help him drag the raft up.

We all head over to the camp and sit down around the burnt logs piled in the middle.

"So guys when are we going to go back like to the outer banks?" I ask nervously.

"I'm down to go tomorrow, I mean the boat still works right and we should've gone by now." Jj replies quickly.

"Yea what about rafe though? Do you reckon he's back in obx?" Sarah says looking around.

"He won't be and I know we have been avoiding it for ages but our family are worried and me and kiara need to let them know we are ok at least." Pope says.

"Yea um I didn't say but a few weeks back in a bottle a missing poster for me washed up on shore. My parents contact was on it which means they have been looking for me." I admit looking at the floor.

"Ok well let's go back tomorrow then. Wait does anyone know the way?" John b remembers.

"Well it could be that way.. or um.. that way." Jj says spinning his head round looking out into the sea.

"Ok well I say we send out a signal that we are here. For instance let's write on the back of the poster our whereabouts and send it out to sea and see if it reaches anyone." I suggest, "I'll go and get the bottle." I grab the bottle from my tent and start frantically looking round for the pen that was in it. I find it buried in the sand and turn to leave but jj is standing in the entrance with his arms crossed.

"Um.. what's wrong?" I ask confused.

"Nothing really.. just I know how much you must miss the island and your parents and I really hope this works.." He says and smiles as he stands away from the doorway to let me through.

I walk through and smile at him as he follows behind.

"Guys I've got it!" I say holding it up, "ok so I'm where are we?" I ask wincing.

"Well we came from um like that way I think. And the boat was travelling from that way I believe but maybe we should just write down 'island off of the coast of obx.' Does that sound good?" Pope suggests and I nod and start scribbling down.

"Oh also put 'stranded here help soon; Kiara Carrera, Jj maybank, Pope Heyward, Sarah Cameron, John B Routledge and Cleo." Cleo says looking round at all of us.

"Ok got it. Anything else!" I ask and everybody shakes their head. I roll up the paper and slot it back inside keeping the pens with me. I put the top on the bottle and walk over to the water as I place it down and let it drift out to sea.

"My oh my can I wait to get my hands on some weed and beer." Jj says watching the bottle float out.

I sigh and walk back to the others sitting back down. "Now we wait." I say and look at the ground.

"Let's just hope it reaches them." John b huffs.

"Well I'm going to head back to my tent and have a nap." Sarah says standing up with help from John b.

They walk off into Sarah's tent as Cleo leaves too.

"Well what would yall like to do?" Jj says excited, "we could go swimming again or try and fit us all on the raft since that shark is bound to be gone."

"Idk I'm tired too sorry Jj." I say and walk back to the tents.

I lay down and fall asleep listening to the quiet sound of waves against the shore.
