•Part 5•

"That's terrifying." John b whispers and looks up, "ward though I killed him? Unless that sneaky bastard found another way to cheat death I would say that this was a while ago."

"Yea.." I say trailing off into a train of thoughts.

"It's probably nothing but it makes me think that if it dropped here and reached us Sarah then your family is nearby." Jj says taking the gold and inspecting it, "meaning they could be back on the obx if ward is really gone." He looks up.

"Yea I suppose so." Sarah says.

"You know gurl they might've actually turned back, after us causing so much trouble knowing them lot they would've turned the boat around again." Cleo says having worked on the ship before.

"Mhm." Pope says, "wonder what happened to the cross."

"Ok guys this is sort of freaking me out so can we like go fishing and look for the bottle or something?" Jj says thrusting the gold bar into Sarah's hands, "if it really is from your family you should keep it."

Jj, Pope and John b walk off to 'look for the bottle' leaving me and the girls to fish again.

"Ugh I'm not doing it." I tell them sitting down, "we are leaving soon there's no point."

Meanwhile jj talks to the other pogue boys.

"I'm sorry about last night." Jj admits looking at the other two.

"It's ok, we can see you like her as more than a friend but no pogue on pogue macking especially you and kie your like brother and sister." Pope says patting my back.

"Coming from you Pope pfft. I say make a move." John b says punching me in the arm slightly.

Jj looks at Pope who's looking at the floor upset. "Don't worry you have Cleo now besides she doesn't like me anyways so there's no point on me trying." He says.

"True and also true." Pope laughs as they walk round the beach shore and look in the seaweed and sand piles for the bottle.

Eventually they give up and head back to the girls who are sitting by the fire pit.

"Heyy!" I say, "find anything?" I ask.

"No." Pope says sourly.

"Ok um anyways earlier a ship passed by, same logo as the one ward was using for the cross, Cleo said since she used to work there." I say pointing out to sea.

"Which means they could've rescheduled their journey or something." Cleo says.

"Yea" I say, "so that means that we didn't sail too far from the nearest island!"

"True. How would we know which way the obx is though." John b asks.

"Well we don't but we could guess basing it on where the boat from earlier came from?" I ask smiling and raising an eyebrow.

"We can set off tomorrow and try!" Jj suggests and we all agree.

We plan a little route by drawing it in the sand and we all decide that John b, Pope and cleo will be in charge of steering and the direction instructions.

The day passes by very quickly and I go out to fish with Sarah for dinner. We come back with half a fish for each of us and we all cook it on the fire as the sky turns a greyish colour.

I catch Jj staring at me and raise my eyebrows but he just looks away. I still can't believe that he kissed me, I mean I don't mind by any means but still I feel bad for Pope and-

"So are we all ready!" Sarah says sounding very excited considering she has no stable family to go back and see since rafe killed peterkin and her dad died and killed John bs father and another innocent man.

"Yea, can't wait for the lecture from my dad though." Pope says rolling his eyes, "seriously though I am excited to finally see him again."

"Yea I'm just scared I'll get shipped off to boarding school I admit.

"Give us your address and we can climb in the window with a cuppa tea." Jj says in a posh British voice.

"Jj it's one in America not bloody England." I roll my eyes at him sarcastically and laugh.

"Whatever luv." He replies and winks.

The sun sets after we all share banter round the fire and we all decide to get an early night. I lay down when I hear somebody outside of my tent coming inside.

"Hi kie." Jj says peeping round the corner and walking in. He sits down next to me and places his hand on my thigh as I look up at him.

"Um I just wanted t-" he begins but I don't let him finish as I pull him in for a kiss. I cup his cheek in my hand and he pushes my hair behind my ear with his free hand as his other hand rests on my thigh making its way down. He moves his body closer to mine as he slides his tongue along my lips and we continue kissing as if there is no one else in the world.

Eventually I pull out recognising we most likely shouldn't be making out in a tent with the others a couple metres away.

"Well? What was that all about?" He asks breathing heavily.

"I dunno just I've kinda wanted to do that for a while as well. Anyway we should get to sleep, go back to your tent." I tell him and he kisses me on the forehead and walks out of my tent to go to his.

Woah woah woah. I gasp and lay down basically shaking. Ahhh. It happened again I sigh and roll over with joy. I try and get to sleep knowing that we are going early in the morning however I can't fall asleep after what just happened. Later I end up falling asleep and being woken up by Jj shaking me.

"Kie come on you over slept." He says helping me up.

"Yea well I wonder why." I say rolling my eyes whilst walking out to the others with him.

"Hey you pulled me not like last time." And he winks as he walks off to talk to Pope.

I huff sarcastically and walk over to Cleo.

"What are you going to do cleo? You know when we are back in the obx are you planning on going back to your home or staying with us?" I ask her.

"I'll most likely stay. I don't really have any family and have no transport of getting there safely." She sighs, "I'm glad though you guys are great company." She laughs and I beam at her.

"Guys let's get ready to go cmon." John b says walking over to us.

We all load onto the boat with a decent amount of fruit and some other little bits like our fishing rod and any cool shells we found on the island. We leave the remaining surfboards behind knowing that when we get home we have our fresh nice boards.

John b and Jj push out the boat and jump on as Pope pulls out the string on the back making it revv up and speed out into the water.

I hope we make it I think watching the water splash behind us and watching Pope direct John b the route we chose yesterday on our map.

I fall asleep as I am so tired and the sun makes me even more exhausted and wake up with my head on Jj's shoulder and an island in the distance.

"There it is kie look!" Jj says pointing at the island. I look up and recognise it. The pier, the lighthouse even the shape is familiar. I grin widely and hug Jj with excitement on finally seeing my parents again.
