S2E6: Perfect Day

Clare's wedding day had come swiftly around. Unfortunately, with it came one of the heaviest snow storms to grace Button House. Most of the guests had pulled out of the wedding due to inability or unwillingness to travel in the snow, and an accident on the M4 had successfully managed to stop the other guests from arriving in due course. Clare understandably was highly worried for the weather and its affect on the wedding, as were Mike and Alison. They didn't want a bad review for their wedding business.

"Tis bad tidings for the nuptials." Mary worried.

"No, it's romantic!" Kitty assured with a beaming smile. "A white wedding. A white, white wedding! Oh, I do wish I could see the service."

"Well, that's at the church, Kitty. As it should be." Fanny told her.

"I know." Kitty mumbled.

"If they can get there, that is." Captain commented, striding towards the window. "Beastly terrain for civilian vehicles."

"I remember my wedding day. It was the best day of my life." Pat reminisced. "Carol in velvet, me in a handsome brown three piece."

"I cannot bear to think of the joy that would've occasioned my own wedding day. Oh!" Thomas lamented.

"Don't remember much of mine. I assume it was fun." Julian made a drinking motion. "Ahhh!"

"Mine was at Winchester Cathedral." Fanny said, happier than most had ever seen her. "I was given away by the Marquis of Granby and the guests included the-" Robin grunted. "Something to say, have we, Robin?"

"Well, in my day, you do what you want." He explained. "You like someone, you do it. You like someone else, you do it. Easy. No one know who their father is but everybody raise children together. Peace and love."

"I see. Bloody hippy, eh." Julian joked.

"Sounds awful."

"It's not very romantic, is it?" Pat questioned.

"You, wife cheat on you." Robin pointed at him before moving on. "And you cheat on wife. And you, husband cheat on you with two men, then kill you so open you eyes, people not meant to be mon-hog... mono - mo-hog... hog..."

"Monogamous." Fanny corrected him.

"That's what I said." He grumbled before pointing at Lucille. "Like Lucy."

"Robin!" Lucille scolded, flushing red as Julian, Mary and Kitty chuckled. "I told you that in sworn secrecy!" Robin shrugged, grunting as he did.

"30?!" Kitty exclaimed. Robin had talked about the partners he had during his life, it came as rather the shock to most of the group.

"Or at least. Lost count." Robin explained.

"Busy bunny, eh?" Julian teased.

"This is not love you speak of! It's but the carnality of a beast." Thomas exclaimed.

"Let me put you this, if you had married Isabel and then you meet Alison-"

"They're 200 years apart, man!"

"Question still stands."

"Well, I'd...." Thomas frowned as he thought. "I'd..."

"See?" Robin said.

"Right, we're commandeering the ballroom!" Captain announced, striding into the room.

"What?" They asked him.
