Nick,

What happened the other day kept on haunting me. Every time you’re near me, I remember all the good things we had.

But I also remember the bad.

Especially the bad.

You held my hand, but I slipped away. You frowned and asked me what’s wrong.

“If you thought that I was perfect, why did you choose to leave me?”

You replied, “Because I’m not good enough for you.”

“What?”

“You’re too good for me.” You said, and then you kissed my hand. “I’m fucked up. I don’t want you to suffer because of me.”

“If you truly did love me, you would know that I wouldn’t mind carrying your burden. But you left me. You didn’t trust me. You didn’t trust my love for you that I could carry those burdens too.”

You looked down. And gripped my hand tight that it started to hurt.

“I just want you to fight for me. You used to do that.” I said.

“Yeah. I did.”

“Now you’re just an addition to my list of demons.”
