"Ugh, I'm never going to find anyone or get married." Chris walks in and slams the door and lays on the couch next to me with his head in my lap.

Growing up as Chris Evans's best friend, I was used to not being noticed by him. So it made it all that much harder when he complained about his love life to me. We had always been close, and I had always had a crush on him. He never made any sort of move, so I assumed he never saw me that way. When he asked me to be his assistant a few years ago, I jumped at the chance. Naïvely, I thought maybe he would finally see me, really see me. But that never happened, and that's okay. I'm just glad to be here, because I'd rather him have someone he can trust with him.

I stroked his hair as he laid next to me, "bad date?"

He rolled over to look up at me. "Yeah. It's fine. Maybe I'll just be a bachelor forever. That's okay right?"

I laughed as I looked down at him. God those blue green eyes. There is no way he can possibly know what he does to me, or what I fantasize about him. "Of course that's always an option, but we both know that's not the life you want."

"How did I get such a great friend?" He closed his eyes as I watched him, fingering my hand through his hair.

"It's because you're so hot that I stick around." I stick out my tongue as he opens his eyes, smirking.

Chris laughs and sits up. "Is that so?" His hands are on my sides, tickling me.

I squeal. "Chris! Stop!!" I wiggle and squirm until he is on top of me. We are both breathing heavy as he stops. I can feel the warmth his breath on my face. His body is pressed hard against mine. I wish he would just kiss me already and put me out of my misery. I can feel the wetness in my panties as he lays on top of me.  He brushes the hair out of my face and lingers for a moment before breaking the silence. "I uh, I should go to bed. We have to fly to LA tomorrow for the Knives Out premiere. Goodnight Sam."

I lay there for a moment as I watch him walk away to his room. Finally, I sighed and head to my own room. I'm lucky that Chris lets me live with him. It allows me to do my job better, and I get to spend a lot of time with him. As I lay in bed about to fall asleep, I hear my phone ding. I pick it up to see Sebastian's name. I smile and click on the text. Chris knew we are friends, heck he's the one that introduced us. I don't think he knows about the flirty texts we exchange though. Or how I might be starting to have feelings for him.

Hey doll. I can't sleep. How are you? 😛

Seb! Hi! Just tired. I'm in bed.

Oh? 😉 LOL
I miss you. I'd like to see you soon.

I'd love that. I'm flying with Chris to LA tomorrow. Knives Out Premiere 😏
And aren't you filming with Anthony?

What's with the face? Don't want to go?
And yeah, I am. I'll be back in New York by xmas.
After the new year we have filming overseas.

Just looking forward to a break. And Christmas.
How is filming going?

Really great actually. I have an idea, how about New Years Eve? Spend it with me?

My heart starts to race as I think about his invitation. He had never asked me out before. We've been slightly flirty in the past, but it never crossed into anything serious.

Are you asking me on a date Mr. Stan?

Only if you say yes. 😁

I'll think about it. I have to sleep.

Ok. Don't leave me hanging for too long.
My heart can't take it.
Goodnight Sam 😘

I read back over the messages. Sebastian has never been so straight forward before. Chris has never shown any interest in me, so why shouldn't I move on?
