~Nova~

It had been another day in my hell like life. I had become as lazy as I had never imagined myself to be. Life hadn't been good enough since I shifted here. And I had no hope of getting it better with any passing day. It had been a long day (or should I call it a long morning, where I was working continuously)

'Whatever', I whispered to myself.

I picked up the watering can and switched on the tap while moving towards my garden. My slippers had been wet and it was a very sunny day.

'I hate sunny days', I whispered to myself, while I was already soaked with sweat.

I was watering my plants when I saw a jeep landing in front of my small house. It was very unusual for a jeep to be here because I lived in a really isolated area.

Without paying much importance to it, I returned back to watering the plants in my garden.

It was noon time. I had already been working since the morning, and I was feeling as tired as ever.

It seemed as if 'tiredness' was a synonym of my name. The word was so relatable to me.

'I am so funny', I thought.

"Hey! Can you please tell me if Miss Nova lives here.", asked a sweet voice from behind.

*sweet as sugar?*

I turned my tired back away from her, so that my front could witness the girl behind this sweet voice, just to know who this person was.

It was rare for someone to know my real name here. I again told my sleepy head.

I looked at the girl. She was pretty enough, brunette hair, the perfect skin complexion with hardly any pimples or acne. Wearing beige sweat shorts in her perfect lean figure, complimented with a white tank top. She was looking pretty, seems that she is in her mid twenties. She had long shaped nails, with a paper between her fingers, which was partly scribbled.

Maybe the address of this place.

I knew who this girl was, but to stay on a safer side I finally led some words out of my mouth.

"Who are you?", I asked trying to take out a polite tone, that could match her sweet voice.

But thanks to God. My voice hadn't ever been sweet throughout my life.

"Umm.. I am Ella, do you know Nova?", she asked again.

I was right, I know her. But how did she know my adress. It was happy to meet someone after so many years.

She hadn't changed much. Same blushed cheeks that she had in school, beautiful long fingers but she's been thinner now. She was quite healthy during school days, but that wasn't ever a problem for her. She was cute and is definitely cuter now.

"Come inside.", I told her, while she looked confused.

Of course she didn't recognize me, my physiche had changed a lot since school days. It was difficult for anyone to recognize me and I was sure she did the same.

We made our way to the front of the house, a white small cottage with just a few rooms and a small garden. That's what my place was.

She entered my small house. The living room had nothing more than a few couches, a small salwood table and a small fireplace.

She examined each and every thing properly, be it the dust laden couches or the dust covered windows. She had been a very hygienic person and I am sure the condition of the room has disgusted her.

I cleaned one of the couches so that she could sit in a clean place. Her eyes were roaming around the room, waiting for some answers.

Her eyes met mine, she wasn't sure of the reason for being here.

Passing my glare, her eyes moved towards a photo frame kept above the fireplace. She stared at it for quite a few seconds and moved towards the fireplace.

She saw the photograph for a while and suddenly picked it up.

I mean, right now I was a stranger for her. How could she touch my things. I didn't mind though.

Clearing the dust off it, which made her cough for a few seconds. She looked at me in disbelief.

"Nova? Wait? Are you Nova?", she asked me, she wasn't believing her words.

I wasn't sure what to answer her. I had been an introvert in all these years and yes! I wasn't in a mood to explain things or answer to her questions right now. I was definitely feeling sleepy, but I was glad seeing her.

One part of my brain said that I could just ignore her and tell her that this girl had once lived in my house as a paying guest and then one day she hanged herself from the fan and committed a brutal suicide, while the other part just told me to reveal whatever it was, without thinking too much.

So yes. I decided to choose the latter option.

'Or? Wait? Let's prank her', my mind chuckled.

"Sorry to inform you dear, but this girl had lived here for some years. She committed suicide.", I said, sounding as sad that I could be.

"She had hanged herself over the fan.", I continued. "The police had come but they didn't find any reason out of it. Are you her family?", I asked her as if I didn't know her at all.

"What the fuck are you saying?" She asked, sounding as shocked as I had imagined her to be. "How could she? Geez. I didn't know that she was this stupid.", she said almost shivering as if the land had escaped from beneath her shoes.

"I don't know", I whispered. "Her luggage is still here, you can see it.", I said cooking up stories in my wracked brain.

She didn't reply. Of course she was dealing with a great shock. The shock of her 'peach' (that's what she called me in school.), committing suicide for some unknown reason, while she was alive and just pranking her.

I am an artist. I thought to myself while a tear fell from her eyes.

Was I this rude?

Is she crying? Was I this important to her? And a laughter led out my mouth. O my god, how intense it was, she almost cried, I thought and continued laughing till the time I couldn't gasp any breath out of my lungs.

She was looking at me. Death scared. She wasn't understanding anything. Damn! She is still an asshole.

After a few minutes, realisation finally dawned upon her and she threw the frame towards me. I was still laughing. Man, she was so dumb.

She joined me and we led out a good laugh for a few minutes.

But what was she laughing for?

For the fact that her 'peach' is still alive. Or because she realised that she is still the dumbest out here. And the thought of this made me laugh a lot more.

"Okay fine. Stop it now. " She said, finally realising that I was alive.

"You are still unhygienic. How can you live with such a dust. Go and make some coffee for me.", she continued.

"And yes. I like expresso.", she commanded, not letting me answer any of her orders.

"I neither have milk nor coffee.", I replied.

She sat down on the couch and I did the same, until when her phone rang.
