Josie P.O.VAs soon as my car stopped by the entrance of the building, my car door is gently swung open. A tall man reached his hand out, and I gladly took it as he helped me out of my car. I fixed my dress and my coat making my way to the entrance.
"Welcome to the Kirby's black-tie Charity Gala. May i have your name please" the lady kindly asked as she looked at her iPad.
"Josette Saltzman" I hid the sigh keeping a fake smile.
"Ah! Of course! My apologies ms saltzman I should of recognized you sooner. I've only seen your father. Now that I take a good look, you look a lot like him" she said with a wide-smile. Kiss ass. I mentally thought. "Will your father be here shortly. Mr. Kirby has been eagerly waiting"
"My father should be here within the hour. Father told me to come early and wait" I told her checking the time on my watch. "Oh, I have a guest who will be here in a bit. Her name is Hope Mikaelson. Let her in okay" I told the lady making my way inside.
When I walked through the halls I saw the dance room filled with well dressed rich people. I never felt so out of place in my entire life. The music was nothing but classical from the orchestra that was on stage. Don't get me wrong I love classical, but it really made me want to fall asleep.
I let out a sigh continuing to walk around the building. I wanted to explore until Hope got here. She texted me saying she would meet me here. I got a little worried but I figured if she got cold feet it would be better this way.
When I turned a corner I saw a line for the lady's room. I always hate how there is no line for the men's yet one for the lady's. I'm pretty sure I heard a few plotting to go into the men's room. Ay when you have to go you have to go.
I turned the other direction and almost ran into someone.
"Apologies I didn't see—" I looked down a bit to see Hope?
"Cause I'm short. Yeah I heard the joke" Hope said looking at me. She looked... tired. Her eyes were dull and lifeless. She was wearing a nice elegant long sleeve lace black dress that fit perfectly showing off her curves and nice tone figure. The high slit on the side of her dress revealed her left leg, while the other stayed hidden. She was beautiful, breathtaking. But... despite the beautiful gown she wore, her expression told me she wasn't feeling beautiful.
I took her hand pulling her towards me giving her a hug. I felt her squeezing me tightly.
"You don't look excited to be here." I told her pulling back. I took her hand holding it in mind as I leaned against the wall. "I know I invited you, but if you're uncomfortable I can take you home" I asked. Hope didn't look at me. She just stared at the ground. "Hey, babe is everything alright"
"It's nothing. I ate something bad earlier... that's all" she said with a weak voice. She looked defeated.
"Babe"
Hope pushed herself off the wall turning to me. She gave me a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "How do I look" she asked.
"Sad" I dropped my eyes to the ground. I shook my head looking back at her seeing the expression change. "I mean, you look beautiful of course, but... I'm just worried about you. You know you can talk to me. Im genuinely asking as a concerned girlfriend. If you really don't want to be here I can take you home. I can even give you my car keys if that's better"
"It's okay... really" she walked forward resting her head on my shoulder. "I have to stay"
"Alright... okay um." I placed my hand on her back and kissed the side of her head. "I'll go get us some food. Stay right here okay. I'll be right back" I kiss her on her head once more before walking past her. I felt a tug on my coat and turned seeing Hope holding the hem of the jacket.
