Dazai sat down on his chair next to Chuuya, handing him a bouquet of flowers. "Chuuya, It's been sooo long! You're being so petty, stop ignoring me..." Chuuya remains silent though, not even lifting a finger to take the flowers from Chuuya.

"Ugh. So stubborn, it rouses a small flicker of curiosity in me— who ever taught you how to act like this? I didn't, that's for sure!" He sets the bouquet next to his small body, sighing. "Seriously, how ever will I want to introduce you properly to the agency if you're such a bad dog? Ridiculous."

That doesn't even get Chuuya to raise an eyebrow.

"What did I do that was so wrong and so bad, Chuu-train? It must be so horrible if you're giving me the cold shoulder. I want to know what I've done, so why don't you stop pretending I don't exist and talk to me?" He shakes Chuuya gently, but his will to ignore Dazai is immovable.

Much to his humiliation and embarrassment, Dazai feels tears streaming down his face.

He bites his lips and sobs, shaking the bed rail with a vengeance. "Stop ignoring me!" Causing such a ruckus that would disturb their neighbors would surely get his dog to stop being so mean, right? Chuuya's always been a people pleaser who cares about other peoples' thoughts of him.

Chuuya's breathing remains steady and calm, not even twitching at all to his pitiful, childish antics. Just like the past few days, he remains unresponsive.

Every single bit of strength leaves Dazai's body, the want to cause a ruckus suddenly disappearing. "Chuuya." He calls out again, broken from his quiet sobbing. He rests his head on Chuuya's thigh, gripping his hand tightly, seeking any type of comfort or touch from his lover.

His tears soak the bed at a rapid rate as the room is filled with nothing but quiet sobs, sniffling and the beeping of machinery around them.

He tries to shake Chuuya into consciousness once again, the wires connected to his body surrounding him.

"C'mon, wake up. You always come when I need you, chibikko. One more time, please." He looks up at Chuuya pleadingly, yet he remains ever so peaceful and unmoved.

Unbeknownst to him, the bouquet falls on the floor and the rope that ties it all together is untied, the red flowers covering the floor like blood.

The door behind them opens, the sound of wheels moving, the sound of people talking and their footsteps getting louder.

"Mister Dazai? I'm very sorry, but visiting hours are over."

For some reason, he can't find the strength to stand up and leave.

For once, he can't find it in himself to leave.
