I'm sure you have heard (it was like about a month ago) about the ITH colorism
If you haven't, basically they had all the main roles white or either light-skinned. Which is bad because its erasing dark skinned people.
Then they had the audacity to say 'we tried to get people for the roles uwuwu 🥺🥺🥺'
You're telling me that there were no dark skinned people fit for those roles???
I watched the interview by The Root and i got so angry.
They kept on excusing their colorism for what??
'You saw the dark-skinned people in the background uwuwuwuw right??uwuw owow 🥺🥺🥺💖'
What does that even meaning? Dark skinned people are so irrevalant to you that you only want to cast them as background characters?
As a dark-skinned woman the interview made me really angry.
I didn't even want to watch the movie until my mom made me go for someone's birthday party😐
Afro-latinos are latinos too, and they deserve recognition as much as white-skinned latinos. Everything we create is celebrated but not us. They like to pretend we don't exist
