Chapter Five - New Inventions

As the Storm Hawks worked on their super moves, Stork was working on modifications to the Condor as well as work on a few inventions he had been working on. As he was working on the Condor, Mei Hatsume lets herself in. 

Hatsume: Heya, Stork!

As Hatsume loudly greets Stork, Stork was startled by this as he nearly jumps out of his seat. Once he regains his composure, Stork turns to Hatsume and gives her an annoyed look. 

Stork: What are you doing here?

Hatsume: I wanted to check out the Condor! Since you've got the Condor up and running, I wanted to help make some modifications!

Stork then recalled how Hatsume wanted to work on the Condor in exchange for her help in the mission to rescue Piper in which Hatsume allowed Stork and the others involved in that mission to get inside the Support Course Class to get the Condor. He also remembered the kiss she gave him. At that point, Stork sighed. 

Stork: I guess a deal's a deal. 

Hatsume was visibly giddy over the prospect that she would be working on the Condor. As Stork showed her around the Condor, Hatsume was in awe of the Condor's layout. 

Hatsume: This is so awesome! This is going to be so much fun, Stork! You and me working on the Condor together! This will be our pride and joy! Our ultimate baby!

Stork: What have I gotten myself into? 

Hatsume: Oh lighten up, Stork! I see you've already done some amazing work on the Condor! How did it fly? Did it give you any problems?

Stork: The Condor flew without incident. In fact, the Condor flew better than ever. With some modifications, I improved the Condor's flight capabilities. 

Hatsume: You mean it's faster?!

Stork: Among others.

A big grin fell on Hatsume's face. Immediately, Stork became concerned. 

Stork: Oh no....

Hatsume: There's so much to do that I just can't decide! 

Stork: There's....actually not that much to do. Any unnecessary modifications would be detrimental to the Condor's capabilities. But....but there's something I suppose we can do. Follow me...

Hatsume gleefully follows Stork to Condor's engineering room which was located next to the cockpit. As they entered the room, Hatsume saw several unfinished projects Immediately Hatsume became awestruck. 

Hatsume: Why haven't you told me about these babies?!

Stork: Because I'm still working on them! 

Hatsume's eyes soon fell on a large, rounded canister. As she attempts to tinker with it, Stork stepped in. 

Stork: Stop or you'll blow us up!

Hatsume: What's this baby?!

Stork: If you must know, I'm working on creating seismic charges for the Condor. Doing so has been a challenge, but I believe I may be on to something. 

Hatsume: May I? 

As Hatsume says this, Stork was very hesitant to do so. While Hatsume was a skilled inventor, Hatsume has a habit of having failures which resulted in explosions. However, Stork honored the deal. 

Stork: Just...be careful. One wrong move and we're all dead.

Hatsume: Oh don't worry about that! This will be a peace of cake!

With that, Hatsume began to tinker with the seismic charge. As she does so, a loud hum was heard. On instinct, Stork pulled out a piece of paper and began to draft up his own will. 

Stork: In light of my imminent demise, I, Stork, hereby bequeath all my worldly possessions to...oh what's the point? They're all going to be destroyed anyway.

To Stork's surprise, there was no explosion. Hatsume got up and with a smile on her face. 

Hatsume: Done!

Stork: What? You're finished? 

Hatsume: Yep! Let's test it out! 

With that, Stork and Hatsume loaded the seismic charge onto the Condor's airlock. Stork and Hatsume readied the Condor and flew into the sky. Stork then primes the seismic charge and sets it to detonate at a safe distance. 

Stork: Seismic charge primed and ready. 

Stork then releases the seismic charge. As the seismic charge is ejected out of the airlock, it begins to fall. As the seismic charge detonated, the resulting explosion temporarily canceled out sound in it's area of effect before the shockwave released a loud humming sound. Stork was impressed at how the seismic charges turned out. 

Stork: Impressive. 

Hatsume: Was there ever any doubt, Stork?

Stork: Maybe a little. 

Stork then pilots the Condor back to the rooftop of the Heights Alliance building. As the Condor landed, Hatsume was still excited. 

Hatsume: This was better than I had hoped! Our first baby together!

Stork: Can you please not phrase it like that? 

Without warning, Hatsume hugged Stork tightly. Stork became uncomfortable, but Hatsume didn't seem to notice Stork's reaction. 

Stork: This...is my life now....

Though Stork was clearly uncomfortable with this, he made no intention of trying to get out of the hug. He just simply let it happen. It was clear that Stork had grown fond of Hatsume. When the hug ended, Stork simply sighs. 

Stork: Don't you have other....babies to work on?

Hatsume: As a matter of fact, I do! But we'll be working together again real soon! 

With that, Hatsume exits the Condor but not before giving him a kiss on the cheek. At this point, Stork himself was wondering what exactly he got himself into. Stork simply sighs as he continues to work on the various inventions he was working on while also working on the Condor. Stork could already tell that he would be working with Hatsume more often on the Condor. And a part of Stork was perfectly fine with it.
