I was on the phone with Jane, talking about the decoration for Cotillion.
"Ry! Ryder!" I heard Carlos call me.
"Ry! Hey! Hey!" Carlos stopped in front of me, "Uh... Would you go to Cotillion with me?" He asked.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. We're all taking a stretch carriage over at 6:00," I replied, "No, no, no, the pen toppers are in the port side cabin," I said to Jane on the phone.
"No, I mean... with me," Carlos said.
"Yeah, want me to swing by your room?" I offered, "No, no, so when you're on the boat facing the left... Yeah, yeah, right. No, no, not right left," I said on the phone to Jane.
"Uh, this is gonna be tricky," I heard Carlos mutter, "Ryder?" He pulled my phone away from my ear, "Would you be my date for Cotillion? And if you don't absolutely hate me by the end of it, um would you consider maybe being more than friends? Maybe?" He asked, nervously.
Me? Going on a date with Carlos? To cotillion? And us being more than friends? Like...
"Like boyfriend and boyfriend? We can hold hands instead of slugging each other all the time? And kiss, cuddle, laugh, and kiss some more. And we can text and I can tell you how great you are, because, Carlos, you're really, really great, and I'm the luckiest guy in the world. You're so nice and cute," I rambled.
"Me too!" Carlos agreed, "I'm the luckiest guy... wait I said guy right? Yeah luckiest guy."
I smiled at him, then hugged him. A few seconds later, I felt him hugging me back.

"Ry? Can you hear me?" Jane said, over the phone.
I pulled away, "Oh. Sorry," I hesitantly leaned forward and softly kissed his cheek, "I'll see you later."
Carlos blushed, "Yeah, totally."
I walked off. And couldn't help but laugh when I heard Carlos cheer.
