a few hours later, when they had watched about two to three episodes even though they were mostly talking and giggling between each other, it was getting late.
ezra was cuddled up to jonah while he ran his hand slowly through her hair. she could hear his steady heartbeat and when she looked up her gaze was focused on this pink lips and her heart stuttered.
she had never really thought about it, i mean, it was common knowledge that jonah was a handsome man but she never realized how attracted she was to him. it was like a lightbulb was turned on in her head and it clicked.
she liked jonah. as more than a friend.
"what?" he asked, looking down to see her staring.
she didn't say anything, she just blinked and leaned up to kiss him.
he froze, she froze. she didn't mean to do that. all her worries were quickly thrown out the window when he reciprocated her kiss.
her body felt like it was on fire and it felt like all the circuits in her brain were fried. his lips were soft and tasted like the buttery popcorn that they had eaten earlier.
his hands gripped the side of her face softly, pulling her impossibly closer while her hands ran through his hair, pulling a little.
when they finally pulled apart, and caught their breaths they just stared at each other.
ezra stood up, clearing her throat awkwardly. "um, it's getting late. do you wanna go to stay over?"
he blinked for a second, trying to comprehend her question, "oh uh, I'll stay."
the next day, ezra was sitting on her bed, worriedly. she had barely gotten any sleep the previous night because he was on her mind. she wasn't sure how she was supposed to act around him now.
were they together? or was that a one time thing?
a knock on her door made her jump and she went to open it. jonah was standing there and awkwardly scratching at the back of his head.
"uh, I just got a text from the boys that we need to go to the studio so I gotta go."
"oh ok, do- do you want a change of clothes?"
"sure-"
she went to her closet and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and the largest shirt she could find. "you're lucky i usually buy some stuff from the mens section"
"heh yea"
it was so painfully awkward, she was ready to dig a hole and just die there. when he had changed she walked him to the door.
"i'll text you," was all he said.
"y- yeah, sure."
when he left she slid down to he floor with a groan. how could she be so stupid? he didn't like her, probably kissed her out of pity. she decided to pretend the kiss didn't happen.
that was the beginning of a disaster.
