─"I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY AGREED TO GET ICE CREAM WITH ME!" miriko exclaimed in shock.
you slightly chuckled at miriko's over-the-top reaction but quickly cleared your throat to stop yourself.
"were you just laughing?" miriko asked slowly as a large smile grew on her face.
you quickly tried to make your face look as neutral as possible and once again cleared your throat to respond miriko's question.
"no i was not laughing you must be hearing things miriko." you replied to miriko calmly.
"you totally were." miriko teased you while rubbing her shoulder against yours.
"was not!" you argued.
"was too!" miriko hummed back.
you went back and forth for a little while before the bantering was interrupted by a tragic event.
the next moment seemed to happen in slow motion while miriko was focused on nudging her shoulder against yours and teasing you she tripped and ended up dropping her ice cream onto the concrete.
you both stopped in your tracks as you looked at the newly fallen ice cream lying sadly on the hot pavement.
"well that's unfortunate." you sighed before continuing your casual walk.
you walked for a couple of seconds before turning around because you didn't feel miriko's presence walking next to you.
"what are you doing idiot i'm doing you a favor by hanging out with you so you better-." you cut yourself off when you saw the disappointed frown on miriko's face while she stared at her ice cream that was now ruined.
"miriko um," you muttered while awkwardly shuffling your feet.
she lifted her head to look up at you with a sad look in her eyes.
you felt too embarrassed to say anything and just handed your ice cream to miriko as compensation before quickly turning around.
"for me?" miriko asked softly.
you didn't say anything and just softly nodded your head, still not facing her.
"AWWWWWW (Y/N)!" miriko swooned.
"i-it's nothing." you mumbled quietly.
"are you implying that we should share an ice cream (y/n)?' miriko asked you teasingly.
you simply shrugged while desperately trying to avoid eye contact.
"you know that's an indirect kiss right (y/n)?"
you finally hesitantly made eye contact with miriko who cheekily returned it while taking a long steamy lick of your shared ice cream.
"your turn (y/n)." miriko handed you the ice cream with a wink.
you didn't respond and took a quick lick of the ice cream and shakily handed it back to miriko.
"how cute." miriko threw her arms over your shoulders.
you didn't say anything and just turned your face away from miriko in embarrassment.
"why are you being so shy now cutie." miriko teased you.
you didn't respond and looked at the ground.
"cutie?-" miriko's whisper into your ear was cut off by you panic-flipping her over your shoulder.
you both watched once again in slow motion as the ice cream left miriko's hand and fell onto the concrete.
"whoops." you awkwardly scratched the back of your head.
"whoops indeed." miriko sighed as she got up from the concrete.

a/n: i actually really liked this chapter it was pretty cute. i was gonna end this chapter in a very different way but i want this relationship to develop at a healthy relationship. anyways i hope you guys enjoyed this chapter i love you guys so so much stay healthy and stay safe!
