Slow Down.

 I want to encourage you to take your time in your relationship. So many people are eager to start families, have babies, and get married and I am asking you to slow down. What is the rush? You ever notice that? You ever see how you are rushing to get things done? School, work, racing your friends to see who gets married or pregnant first? Or even worse, trying to beat your own siblings to it. Slow down. Stop and smell the roses. Stop and enjoy the little sights. Enjoy the little things. 

 I am not saying extend your talking stage beyond three years. But, what is the rush? What is the rush to say "I love you" and what is the rush to move in together? If you are so sure about a person, please remember to slow down. I am not telling you to never reach those milestones. I am rooting for you. But, please try to enjoy your time in the process. 

 Time is so precious and you cannot get it back. Stare at them a little longer, hold onto them a little tighter, and try to prolong those tiny moments for as long as you can. Don't close your eyes until the very last second. Don't say goodbye until the very last minute on the clock. Don't be so quick to let go. So many potential relationships rush through the phases and question why it didn't work out. Slow down. 

 These moments, these times are so important and precious and you are going to look back when you are older, and you are going to wish you took things a little slower. You don't want to be old and gray, sitting in a chair wishing you could go back just one more time. You want to be old and gray and content with the fact you made the most out of your life when you had the time and person beside you. 

 Please slow down. Babies, marriage, travel, and living together will happen eventually. You don't have to have it all figured out within the next nine years or even the next 20. Nowadays it is really hard to question how much time we have in this world. So, take it in. Slow down and enjoy things before they slip through your fingers. 

 You can always make more money. You can always go back to certain places. You can always experience the same adventures. But, you will never be able to get that time back. Slow down. Take a look around. Fall in love with the moment and everything that is within. Yesterday is history and tomorrow is never promised. 

 Slow down.
