nick's mother is against red meat, so all of his life he's never eaten red meat and continues with that belief. when he was little his mother had to take him to the doctor for mysterious hives only to find out he was allergic to both cats and mangoes. his mother was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age and between her job as a school teacher and her little kids- she never made much time for nick. hence why they don't get along. nick's father runs rhun's electronics with callie and carson's father but still manages to spend time with his children. particularly nick.
